[...] Sage Francis vient de Providence, Rhode Island. Il fait de la poésie, du slam, et du rap conscient, avec des jeux de mots dedans, depuis qu’il a huit ans. En 1996 il sort sa première mixtape, monte son groupe, anime une émission de radio. Il sort son premier album en 1999 sur le label d’un pote, gagne le Superbowl MC Battle à Boston et remporte le 2000 Scribble Jam à Cincinnati, arborant un t-shirt Metallica. Le 11 octobre 2001 il met en ligne le morceau Makeshift Patriot http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtNMly0aDUk , téléchargeable gratuitement. Un peu tôt pour dire que l’Amérique avait mérité les attentats. Exposition nationale dans les médias. Il sort trois albums/mixtapes et arpente les scènes indé, puis fonde son propre label, Strange Famous Records. Depuis, il ne fait qu’augmenter sa cred’ avec un paquet de morceaux qui tiennent carrément la route, comme ce SFR Pays Dues featuring B. Dolan & Prolyphic, extrait de la mixtape Sick Of Wasting sortie en 2009… [...]
