Sage Francis Bio

"All great truths begin as blasphemies," proclaimed the fiery playwright George Bernard Shaw. It's a sentiment that can be applied exponentially to the works of rapper Sage Francis and his exhilarating new album Li(f)e. Francis has never been afraid to provoke. As a result he is a sometimes polarizing and increasingly important figure in modern music. Adored by many, reviled by a few but never ignored and always essential, Sage Francis has emerged as the reigning agent provocateur of hip hop. Read more

Lets hope you get a full UK tour on the Go. You’ve got much love here in Glasgow. If you don’t get to play up here in Scotland then lets hope you add more dates in London.

This is going to be one of those gigs that everyone claims to have been at in a few year’s time. Best of Times has been added to the Radio 1 daytime playlist this week. Big.

Got my tickets for this. Going to be a special night.

There’s a full UK tour booked for September.

  15. Dan Pearson says:

Sage, you signed a t-shirt for me when I saw you back in 2000 at a shitty Nottingham bar where you turned up with a backpack, a strange famous puffa and a portable CD player. I’d heard you once, doing Inherited Scars on the Anticon family sampler. You changed the way I thought about music. Come to Brighton. Please. There are people who are waiting to be enlightened.
