for those that think there are no absolutes  Reply with quote

and I'm one as well...I really don't think there's something that is true 100% of the time

But I've been wondering...I always say

"Everything is bad in excess"

And I've had a really hard time coming up with anything that is not...concerning humans specifically of course

don't say "There can't be too much universe can there?!?!"

probalby nothing, moderation is the key.

yeah that's what I'm asking...I guess other people didn't really get what I was trying to say

Anyway, if this is true then the whole "nothing is 100% true" non-absolutist theory goes straight to the shitter

And I used to be on that thought nothing holds true 100% of the time

And I know there are many more, so I'm trying to see if those people can come up with anything

I mean, if this holds true and nobody can come up with anything....then I'm really onto something big here

at least for those that care about such things

No not really. You are simply confusing terms here. Saying that nothing is good in excess does not disprove absolutism. Absolute principles cover a lot more than that.

I don't follow this at all.

If I say "the universes existance is absolutely true" what does pointing out that drinking too much water is bad for you prove?

forget about the time thing...the person who brought it up didn't even know what I asked

and what I am saying is

there are people that think NOTHING holds true 100% of the time

WHICH IS CONTRADICTORY IN ITSELF

and there are many. If the excess "saying" is absolute...then I think the conflict is obvious

Randomsuge;

How about this: existance holds true 100% at all times.
