spirituality, where do you stand?  Reply with quote

well most of my life i was muslim, then i realized it was a very changed religion, and pretty much just quit it. for about a year i was just in a no mans land. then i just started reading books about enlightenment and spirituality, im really starting to think that there's something to this enlightenment stuff, ive been so happy and things just seem more beautiful, anyone read "siddartha"? this kind of "awakening" is mentioned in there, anyone else feel it?

yeah, i know what you are talking about. for me, it came when i fully accepted Christ.
Christianity is a challenged religion as well, so i feel you on the giving in stage. its way hard to stay completely on track...
C.S. Lewis had a great explanation entitled the law of undulation.
Congrats on the enlightenment man, its a great feeling!

right on it...I stomp the motherfucker near death. Then I don't have to stand on it anymore...and I'll come back one day and see if it's finally making some fucking sense. Till then, if it keeps babbling about retarted shit...I'll keep stomping on the little bitch

from what I know..."enlightenment" and spirituality have very little to do with each other. But I guess it depends...a buddhist would tell me I'm wrong for the most part. But not completely.

I'll say this. The mind is the most powerful thing I can think of concerning humans. Make of that what you will.

CS lewis = Christian apology philosophy for people that don't have any understanding of philosophy.

I think my position can best be summed up by Jello Biafra

"all religions make me wanna throw up
all religions make me sick"

no offense spies

one thing I dislike is people using quotes from books to back up what they say

I dislike it even more when they use KRS quotes to talk about hip hop

I don't know...you don't need to read something to form your own opinions. I haven't even read 5 books my whole life...and I don't know much, but people on this board say I'm smart and shit for whatever reason

I make up most of what I say on the spot

Not catholic...I'm and 'indie' christian...HAHAHAaaaa

But seriously, I folow no man-made denomination...

And let me get something straight...That's by MY faith...MY faith is the conviction that the BIBLE is God breathed and despite the accusations of the pseudo-scientists that his word has gone unchanged by man...By word I mean the actual words of the bible...Not the utterings and lies of a preacher, priest, or minister...

And it does...Because it's the "mainstream" religion of the US...But I believe in its purity it is true...
