it happened.
it was fun for me...I had a short set. Just fucking around on stage. And I got to play flavor flav for Sole's set.
in all honesty...I had a really fucked up night. but I feel safe on stage. so that made everything ok. |

i enjoyed the show
it was my girlfriends first time seeing sage, so of course she loved it.
i got her a copy of known unsoldier and had sage sign it for her.
i thought that would keep her happy for a while but we just had a fight over nothing(off topic, sorry)
i didnt feel the vocab set to much. i liked him more in the top choice of them all track on the mind money and mahem cd
sole was great, espeacialy when he was triny to beat up joey beats. hahaha!!!
i grabbed a cd off of him also, did anyone else get a photo slide in theres.
mine is of a street light over looking city traffic.
great show all in all.

Yes yes... Vocab is an unbelievable lyricist doing different stuff with hip hop... which is fucking great... I obviously don't support all of his views but whatever. Sage's set was maniacal... a good time was had by all.
During Sole's set... there was a kid in the front row wearing an El-P shirt... and this fool in back of me was like what... an El-P shirt... moron...
Fucking idiots.
Sole's new CD is going to be dope... his explanation of it to me was... it's all new... nothing about it is old... Different stuff... He said it's like... Public Enemy and Radiohead... and a bunch of other groups all in one. |

got there early, it wasn't really 18 plus (you only needed an id to drink).. sat down, said hi to sage, bought the unknown soldier disc.
waited a good long time. watched three dj's spin (one of them was mek).
vocab came on and did a short set. it was cool, or at least you could say it was unique.
then sage came on. this is what i remember of the setlist:
underbite ben finds god
crack pipes
different
smoke and mirrors
broken wings
personal journalist
makeshift patriot
rewrite
hopeless
then sage said he had time for one more song. joe beats jumps on stage (like at the record release show) and says "i want to do a song"... i would assume this was all planned ahead of time, but he did the anticon diss song, and sole came up on stage, and looked all mean and pissed like. then after joe did his thing, sage did "inherited scars", and that was that.
sole came on, and admittedly, i don't really know any of his work. he did "bottle of humans" and "year of the sexxx symbol", but that's all i recognized. he also played a lot of new stuff, which sounded like nothing i'd ever heard before. at one point he said, "everyone that's still with me, throw your bitchbeaters up in the air," and held up his fist. this girl right up front had this sour, half shocked/half pissed look on her face. haha. i don't think she got it.

i think this stretches back all the way to the beef between el-p and sole, which is long since dead and gone... maybe the guy thought it would be mean to wear an el-p shirt to a sole concert, but considering the beef has long since subsided, it doesn't matter. it's not like he got on stage and dissed anticon... now that's disrespectful.

The kid was a die hard sole fan and obviousl;y was frontin on El-P becuase of the beef that he thinks is still going on... he called the kid a moron for wearing it... as he spat upon me singing the words to call of tyhe songs...
