some things are symbolic.

that's all I have to say. No thank you for being opportunistic and stating what is fairly obvious.

again.

When someone tips their drink for someone dead its not because the motherfucker is thirsty.

Opportunistic? I'm just saying what I feel.

That's a very good line (pouring the drink), and not just because it's a cleverly turned phrase. All mourning is for the living, and I'm not even saying it's wrong.

Aw fuck whatever I'm not really trying to shake things up.

I'm just excitable.

I'll leave this thread alone, I guess.

It's the fact that the author of the initial post asked for us to "please not politicize"

so the people who cared enough to show that they can be humble and recognize the senseless deaths abroad with a simple "RIP"did so.

With all our hooting and hollering, it may come across that we are not compassionate or sensitive to the lives that are being lost (on either side of the battle line) for some very unfortunate reasons. Instead of screaming bloody murder, it might be good to just bow your head and pay respect to life in general by considering all that you do and don't know about existence.

Not that I want to further mire this simple thread in a defense of my post, but I didn't express a political position, Sage.

This is a thread about being sad when people die - I posted about being sad when people die.

I didn't call anyone bad or even criticize them. I just offered alternative respects.

Sorry it was so disruptive. I guess it was a poorly judged post.

R.I.P.

I have been thinking about this shit all day today. This war is already worse than I thought it would be. I feel helpless. This really fucking sucks.
