"JM: I think part of it is that I grew up in Minnesota. One of the first albums I bought was Overcast! by Atmosphere and, to me, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are such a bastardized, horrifying version of what Slug and Ant have been doing for, like, 15 years.

AVC: And Atmosphere will never get this kind of recognition.

JM: Of course not. And it sucks.

Thatís another thing. Iím completely aware of how emo and whatever Atmosphere is, but if people like Macklemore, they should fucking delve a little deeper and find stuff like Atmosphere. Macklemore is just like if Asher Roth got really into Sage Francis. Heís just kind of a dummy and heís getting so much credit."

AVC: Itís definitely self-congratulatory.

JM: Thatís the thing. You can tell just by his voice and how triumphantly heís delivering the lyrics that he thinks heís being so brave, but itís like, ďNo. Itís 2014 and youíre a white dude with a Hitler-youth haircut.Ē

We are deeply, deeply sorry to say that due to licensing constraints, we can no longer allow access to Pandora for listeners located outside of the U.S., Australia and New Zealand. We will continue to work diligently to realize the vision of a truly global Pandora, but for the time being we are required to restrict its use. We are very sad to have to do this, but there is no other alternative.

I like it. Ant should use that talk box sounding whatever more; the music in that first track is bonkers. And it's really good to hear a proper tribute to Eyedea. Solid album, will bump in the whip

Star Shaped Heart has been my jam every since Mr. Daley sent me a link to the album. At first I thought the scratching at the end was too playful and random, but after multiple listens I really love that song from beginning to end.

Also, yes, the tribute to Mikey is special/needed/appreciated/beautiful/crushing/cathartic.

I can't fully explain how I feel about it or why. Not yet. But I will say that the first time I heard Flicker I broke down. And each time after that...I still can't stop the tears. I can't listen to it casually and I don't think it was meant to be listened to casually. But there it is, on an album that almost insists that you can enjoy it all on a relatively casual basis...until that song. That might be what gives it more of a punch to the gut. I don't know. Last night I played it for a special person in my life and I'm grateful that I could be properly held and consoled by the time it was finished. I think I missed a lot of that important stuff since the fuckery of 2010.

When all is said and done, my army and I can always go back to Star Shaped Heart and look for lucrative wounds to lick.
