Dorner Done?  Reply with quote

What a fucking mess.

My favorite part: "Jumpy officers guarding one of the targets named in the rant in Torrance on Thursday shot and injured two women delivering newspapers because they mistook their pickup truck for Dorner's."

They don't want to arrest him. Was it 60+ bullets they fired into the newspaper ladies car?

Before checking who was driving.

Or identifying themselves.

That seems like attempted murder to me.

But the cops involved will just go for some 're-training'.

They also shot at a skinny Moby looking dude after mistaking him for a large black LL Cool J looking dude.

The guy will be coming out in a body bag soon.

From time to time, the internet must purge itself.

Your post got deleted because you posted a dumb LL Cool J photoshop, which kind of wreaked of "huhhuh don't these black people look alike?" type humor.
Yes, they're both large black men with bald heads.
But as I was hoping to see what people had to say about this insane moment in US history, which could potentially change how things work in our country, I was more interested in seeing that issue discussed without the unnecessary meme distraction for now.

That's your answer. Thanks for playing.

Even worse, a LL Cool J's face was photoshopped onto Dorner's head, so it wasn't even a fair comparison.

If you want to know what I think, this incident will be used to justify an increase in LAPD's armaments and SWAT Team funding. This guy is a piss-poor martyr to uphold as proof of the LAPD's systemic racism. At best, he's a disgruntled ex-employee.

You're probably right about that, Reggie.

One thing that doesn't make sense to me is that Dorner didn't go after the people that he claims wronged him. I don't condone his behavior in any way, but since he was willing to kill police officers, why not go after the chief and the training officer he says kicked a suspect? This whole thing would at least be about direct revenge, as opposed to randomly killing people that had (presumably) nothing to do with his firing. The whole thing is mental, but I can at least see the motive in personal revenge.

If you go into local PD's to question them as to what litmus tests they administer to gauge potential officers moral standing, volatility/reactivity, impulse-for-revenge and how they screen-for and weed-out these individuals of weak conscience, no direct answers are given.

"At best a disgruntled employee"... Really? One aspect is systemic racism which exists in the broader pool that is corruption inside the insitution. Now (and when Dorner was alive, if he's dead) is/was an invaluable opportunity for LA residents to take this seriously and push for transparency of the Police Departments activity. Because really, footage of police activity should be public property. So should anything that has restricted access which affects society at large.

real talk..

at first, a weird part of me wanted this to last longer.
and I feel guilty because of it.

I was cheering for a USA army trained & USA police trained super-sniper dude to wage war against the system that made him the person he was..

but... death sucks... and i'm now relieved that it ended this quick.
there won't be any more casualties.
