Spotify is pretty much killing my need to even use my hard drive for music. Which is good, because I'd like to use that space for my collection of photoshopped lizard pictures.

I dunno. I think a hard drive is a pretty antiquated idea these days. Eventually all of your stuff is going to be everywhere you go, whenever you want to access it. This is the future that blew our brains out watching Sci-fi as kids. Right down to the tupac holograms.

Eventually the only hard drive you're going to have is your brain. Everything is moving 1 to 1 and seemless.

Downside is that it's making THINGS worthless, and access to things overly expensive. Eventually you won't buy your bed. You'll license the rights to your bed.

On the plus side, I would hope one day that this leads us to a life where we can go back to having a much lessened negative footprint on the planet around us.

I also think this could end the city state. Or to put it another way, expands it so greatly that it loses it's current definition. The impacts all of these things will have on us as a species are pretty incredible to think about.

I was trying to find a post that was appropriate for replying with this new mix I made and I guess this is the best one. I didn't want to start a new post although I feel the music is good enough for it.

Here is the link to the new mix: http://www.sendspace.com/file/pzds7n

and here is the tracklisting:

Kristoff Krane feat. Sage Francis and Sadistik - Wild West
Absolute feat. Giant Gorilla Dog Thing - Stonewall
Giant Gorilla Dog Thing - Lichenstein
Dezmatic - Foot, Mouth, Rinse, Repeat
C-Rayz Walz - Miss It
Illogic & Aaron Evans - I'm Only a Drop
Absolute featuring C-Rayz Walz, Xkwizit and DJ Duece - ClusterFuck
Usher feat. Emilio Rojas - Climax Remix
Sixo feat. Ceschi & Hologram Dagger - Bling Coats
Sixo feat. Ceschi & Onry Ozzborn - Thief
Icon the Mic King - Mercy of the City
Gorilla Tao - Glorious
Animal Cracker feat. Metalheart and Giant Gorilla Dog Thing - Circle of Psycho
C-Rayz Walz & Swave Sevah - Think Rot
Wordsworth - Joy & Pain
Quakers feat. Emilio Rojas - Belly of the Beast
Oddy Gato feat. Giant Gorilla Dog Thing - Easter Island
Absolute feat. Giant Gorilla Dog Thing - The Game of Rap
DJ Scientist - Lullaby (Outro)
2econd Class Citizen and DJ Food - The Small Minority Megamix by DJ Food

Some of these songs are old and some are new. I put the mix together almost a month ago but I decided to share it here today. It's some hip hop music I consider good.

So from the tracklisting you can probably tell I am a Giant Gorilla Dog Thing fan (that's Dezmatic and Dood Computer) as they appear most on the mix. I like 2econd Class Citizen and the DJ Food megamix of their new album The Small Minority got me really hyped for the new album. Their new album is out now, visit their facebook page for more info: http://www.facebook.com/2econdclasscitizen

Illogic has a new EP with Blockhead that dropped today. Wordsworth has a new album dropping this month. And of course you all know of the new Kristoff Krane CD. There's a thread for it on here.

The other artists on here have CDs to which I pulled these songs from. I think it's a really good mix I made. Sound quality could be better for a couple of songs but over all I like it so check it out. Use the M3U file in it to have it play in the tracklist order i have it.

Is this a mix or like... a collection of discrete songs?

If mixes like that are going to be made, I'm afraid I'm going to need lots of gunshots, airhorns, and you yelling all over the beat, distorted, with an echo that is nowhere near being onbeat.

THAT'S a mixtape.

I think it's a major faux pas to have to the same artist twice on a mix-tape, especially in consecutive order. That Usher track seems wildly out of place. Overall I'd give your "mix" a 4/10. I don't even understand why you're telling us about it. Is there a point to it other than "Yo, bro, I made you something"?
