Don't know why thread 2 was put in the history, MMA is still very much alive.....

Struve shocked me tonight, Hardy is the man, Big Country still amazes me, Varner is still in the game, Cain is a fucking beast, and Junior Dos Santos is un-fucking-stoppable!

Can't wait for Sonnen vs. Anderson II.

If anything, I love Chael's shit-talking. He's A+ B.S.

big country is made of granite, but he'll never be anything more than a gatekeeper in the HW division. it would be interesting to see him burn off the fat and fight at a lighter weight class.

aaand the 4 hour timeslot for the fights was burned in what, an hour and twenty? Cant say I saw a full card of heavies going any differently.

Couldn't believe that right from Roy, so awesome. Great night of fights, but god damn Cain- you nearly made him bleed out.

Well, it was 168 pages long. I figured it was a good time to scoot that over to the Hall of Fame forum and let y'all start a new thread. I don't do much upkeep on this forum anymore so some of the decisions are admittedly haphazard.

I've never seen anyone destroy an opponent like Velasquez did to Silva. Within seconds he flipped him on his back and never let me breathe.

JDS smashed a fat slow Mir who has a weak chin and went for 1 take down. Not very surprising.

Barboza & Brandão losing was VERY surprising to me.

Also very happy to see Mayhem cut, he was slightly less annoying than Russell Brand and has fighting skills on par with the average high school bully.

any of you heard of tom lawlor?

he lives in rhode island right now, originally from mass. he was a good friend of mine during middle/highschool here in florida

he just won a 40.000 dolla knockout punch

watch out he'll be a big name soon i bet

he was a big fan of WWF growing up and likes to parody their entrances for his own

he was also in one of the ultimate fighter seasons, he was the one that knocked out the drunk dude taunting him

wont embed but you can watch here

yeah that guys a hero, I'm a fan.

frank mir looked fat and shit, Ian freeman beat this guy. I think dos santos will drop cain again. Mayhems greatest victory was nearly submitting jake shields, apart from that I've never really been that impressed with the guy.

Anyone listen to Chael's interview on the joe rogan podcast? Its really great, he drops the promotion persona for it and you get him and rogan chatting mma for 3 hours, really good if you're a fan (free on iTunes)

yeah, great night of fights! not great fights, but great entertainment, very explosive

that struve move shocked me, how he jumped up and pulled guard and then arm. beautiful.

i am still waiting to see junior in trouble. on his back, or taking some big shots. the fact it hasn't really happened is testament to his defensive (and offensive) skill. what did they say, his whole ufc career he's been on his back a total of 12 seconds?!

i listened to most of that rogan sonnen podcast. i could listen to either of them all day, great to hear them together. enlightening and entertaining as hell. can't wait to see what happens in the silva sonnen fight, and to see/hear what happens after

btw, the spell correction thingie changed 'rogan sonnen' to 'organ sonnet'

Don't know what happened backstage, but apparently Miller did something worth getting kicked out the UFC.

i read it was something about a mask he wanted to wear, some ufc brass yelled at him as he was about to make octagon entrance.

that may have some to do with it, but i think its a lot to do with not having what it takes in the ufc. they will deal with fighters they don't personally like, if there is that mutual respect of pay for putting on great shows. drawing people doesn't mean shit if you can't compete, or they could just sign flav

Bump.

Is anyone getting UFC 147?

Seems like it's basically going to be a TUF finale with Wanderlei Silva fighting Rich Franklin because Vitor Belfort was unavailable. It just feels like there isn't $50 worth of fight card here, so I'm probably going to skip it.

Yeah, I'm not all that pumped for 147. I might use it as an excuse to go out and get some chicken wings and catch it at a bar, but definitely not going to be adding the PPV to my cable bill.

Now I AM looking forward to some of these fights and they're FREE Friday night.
