| "Zero" - Sage Francis (prod by Buck 65) - FREE MP3 |

Here's previously unheard version of my "I Was Zero" song, produced by Buck 65. As you'll notice, it ended up being completely re-arranged and reworked by the time Li(f)e came out. It even has an additional verse. I prefer this version.
I've been waiting to release this demo for five years.
If you enjoy it, please share it. Thanks for the support, fam.

I love this song. Buck 65 did a great job on this version of it but I love hearing all of these different versions of these songs from Li(f)e. All of the demo releases give such a different vibe and sound to these songs. It's interesting to hear these. |

This is hands down my favorite song off the album. Hearing this different version is absolutely incredible. Really nice vibe here. The subtle change of the chorus also adds a little something. Thanks for the bonus download! |

this is so bonkers. Didn't buck 65 kill the version of slow man as well that didn't make the cut?

Yeah. I wouldn't say that they didn't make the cut. They were actually used as the blueprint for what was eventually recorded in the studio with different musicians.
Here's the demo version of Slow Man using the Buck beat:

That has an additional verse as well. I definitely prefer the Buck beats over what the live band did, but I do like the live band stuff in a different way. I just wish they didn't change things so drastically once we were in the studio. It became a matter of them throwing their own style and twist on demos I had recorded. Brian Deck, the producer, guided everything in that way. |

I think as stand-alone songs, the two buck 65 produced songs are better than the album versions. But the album versions fit perfectly with the rest of the songs, I wouldn't change a thing.
Can't wait too see how the rest of 2013 is for sfr |

The two demos produced by Buck that I've linked to in this thread are the only ones that sound like that. The only other one that might come close is the 16 Years demo which Kurtis SP produced and I will release that at some point. That's the only demo I LOVE that hasn't been released yet. Everything else is just a lousier or similar version of what ended up being recorded in the studio. |

16 Years is my favorite song on the album. So far I still like all the album versions better. |
