Why is this weird? People like different kinds of music.
Boy do they. Intellectualize it all you want. Shit's still boring.
I don't think anybody here is intellectualizing Aesop the artist. Some people find his output pleasing and worth listening to. Others don't. No biggie. I don't listen to him because he makes sense and provides a cohesive narrative from song to song. It's just art for my ears, pure and simple. And like anomaly said, jog on. |

aesop provides a lot of imaginative lyrics to be interpreted by the listener, when i listen i get so many pictures and metaphors popping up in my head ,, its great, and aesop has gotten much better at getting beats that make these lyrics much more consumable , for a visual artist like myself, it fuels a lot of inspiration , and im sure for many other creative types too
you dont like that game , dont play it, aesop is great, always will be with this formula |

So the last two or three pages of this thread wasn't folks trying to intellectually justify them digging Aesop's music?
Ok.
Guy is successful. And rightfully so, he put in work and found what works. I'm not hating on that. Just thought I'd stick my crooked dick into the circle jerk.
He's boring on record and even boringer on stage.
You guys seriously don't think he's made the same fucking record for the past decade?
He's a glorified guest emcee. |

They're coming through Dallas this summer. Pretty excited about that.
Don't have much time to get familiar w the new material before the show. I think it's something like 10 days after the release day. Gonna be a good summer for music |

Whose van? Did this happen in San Francisco? Because our van was broken into once or twice in that fine city. |

hoe-lee-shit.
That's mad. The show was canceled because the DJ's harddrive was stolen. Fuckin' CRIPES. Not good.
I've faced similar situations and managed to make the show still happen. But...yeah...it wasn't nearly as good of a show as it should have been. Sorry to hear about all of this. I trust things will pick up for them. People are loving the album. |
