This guy is for real. I think I learned about him here, then started watching Thumbs Up, which I really enjoyed. May '10 issue of Juxtapoze dedicated the issue to him. Interesting cat. Humorous, brilliant art. |

korean actually but hey, who can tell those asians apart? anyways, season 2 of Thumbs Up was my favorite, Tijuana to Alaska.....
i been fortunate enough to get all his books (Slow Jams, Cursiv, Bruised Fruit & self titled) and have 2 prints hanging in my office, wish i could afford more cause i would buy them

His art is not beautiful in my opinion, it is simply 'of the moment'. |

David Choe is a living art genius/legend. The fact that he comes across as a completely normal (reasonably at least lol) and accessible human being is definitely a part of his charm. I've been watching Thumbs Up for quite a while now. It's good stuff. The first two series were better that the current one I think. The China series is OK, but it's been extremely slow.
I had a daydream about running into Horny Kim on the street today. Heh. |
