did you know they have rabbit conventions / shows that are just like dog shows, where they evaluate rabbits on different criteria and award best-of-breed and stuff like that? I learned this last week from this guy I work with who just got back from one. Attending one of these is now right near the top of my to-do list.

Beware - All this bunny talk has got me a little nervous. If you go to the bunny show don't forget the hold hand grenade of Antioch. No joke...

Yeah, we should include what we shoot with. I shoot with a Nikon D5000 (I won't allow myself to upgrade until I know every function inside and out...and then can afford it). For lenses, I normally travel with a 24-120, but lately I've been using a 30mm prime lens just to torture myself. It can be fun.

good on ya for goin prime. i use 6 nikon manual focus primes ranging from 20-180. my baby is the 55mm f1.2. I use em on the canon t3i.

arn't the functions just iso, aperture, shutter speed and picture profile? Do the nikons have white balance?

Yeah, it is pretty basic. Since the D5000 isn't a full format the 30mm acts as a 55mm. It is a 1.8. Which definitely allows for better dark setting shots. I just feel that I haven't fully utilized it enough to warrant me dropping another 700+euros for a new body. The D5000 has been amazingly rugged, though. When I was in university I had taken many classes on film photography so i was motivated by the darkroom and assignments given. Now I catch myself being lazy. As a result, I've been following a digital photography forum and read up on their assignments. Just to get me thinking outside of the norm in an attempt to be productive...or the least bit creative.

those five functions are pretty much it. On a D3s or canon 1d mk5 you're not gonna have any more for image control. Just higher fps count, nicer sensor, and more rugged build. Lens choice can make a much bigger difference than most people think. The d5000 looks pretty damn good. I think nikons are better than canons at stills, but not as good with the movie mode.

whats the photography forum address? I'm kinda at a loss for what to take pictures of.
