So I came across this beheading video of two Mexican cartel members. I couldn't press play. After reading the story and description that was enough for me. In my youth I would hit play without thinking twice.
Anyone here watch that video? I would be interested in hearing about how you felt while watching and how long it stuck with you. |

Back when I was a young lad and the internet was just being invented, I can remember a major discussion point was the death videos. Friends would talk about seeing people get their hands and feet cut off for stealing, beheadings and the like; I think the popular site was ogrish.com? ogreish? I dunno, the point is, fuck that. I could never bring myself to watch that shit.
I forced myself to watch that Collateral Murder leak, because I knew it was something that needed to be brought to light. Will never forget that video, and it' is very "tame" compared to what the internet is capable of shitting out. I don't need to see anything worse than that.

I hung out with Mr. Sean Daley for a little while this past weekend & we got to talking about old school hiphop. I damn near fell out of my seat when he showed me this video. It's an amazing glimpse into what a lot of indie-hop's "old guard" were experimenting with in the late 80's and early 90's. After seeing this, I'm not sure if I'm upset or relieved that my performance of King Sun's "Be Black" was rejected by the Jr. High Talent Show judges.

That dude sucked w/ a chainsaw and the guy w/ the knife really worked hard for that. I'd be mad too if I had to live in the shithole that is Mexico.
Having family in South Padre, TX, we used to go visit all the time and go to Matamoras for cheap clubbing/drinking. These days, I'm scared to even go to Padre itself. There's too many shitty chainsawers and dull knives for my comfort. |
