How many of the people yelling "let 'em die" in the first video do you think would support using tax money to implement and enforce a federal anti-abortioin law? Unborn fetus: spare no expense in giving it a chance at life. Sick or injured adult: spare nothing.

It's pretty sad when your country's politicians (i.e., Rick Santorum) are ignorant enough to say that the U.S. is not somewhat to blame for the 9/11 attacks.

"We stand for American Exceptionalism!" -fist pump-

It blows my mind that someone running for president can stand on stage 10 years after the attacks and say "they hate our freedom" and not get laughed/chased off the stage.

I think we've known for a while now that the answer to the questions "Am I my brother's keeper?" is "Not if it costs me money, and probably not even if it's free."

And ya, I don't generally agree with Ron Paul's politics but at least he's intelligent and not just a whirling mouthpiece.

The libertarian point of view does not need to be one of an unsympathetic nature. Maybe the libertarian has enough faith in society to believe that we will help each other voluntarily instead of coercively.

Why do you choose the term "coercion" to describe the institution of systems and policies to provide healthcare coverage to american citizens? Is it because these policies would involve an increased financial burden (in the form of taxes or an insurance mandate) on citizens who don't end up needing such coverage? If so, are all taxes by nature coercive, even one's that build roads, schools, fund police and fire departments, etc? If not, what makes some taxes coercive and other's not? I'd also be curious to hear why you think it's better to have people rely on something as fickle and intangible as "bonds of human sympathy" rather than actual laws.
