Yup. I don't really see it, myself. I would have thought someone more rugged would have fit the role better. And he has the weird holdover of a Swedish accent going on too, which doesn't really work with Robocop. But I'm not a casting director.

Well, it'd be more like that guy in Dexter (Peter Weller) was Robocop.

Was thinking of a movie I haven't seen in a while "Kalifornia" and it just aired on cable. Dope movie.

Well, I just watched God Bless America. *spoilers*

It had so much potential, but was thwarted by what seemed to be a rushed script. I guess I didn't really expect much from a guy named Bobcat, but man, society basically wrote the perfect script for him.

I guess the plot holes and contradictions are what ruined the movie in the grand scheme of things. Also, their supporting role of an angst filled-counter culture teen came off more as annoying and naive.

The simple logic behind who they killed and why was blurred early on in the film when he kills the rich girl's parents. Yeah, they were stereotypical wealthy sycophants who offered very little to society, but did they deserve to die for spoiling their child? Not to mention the blaring contradictions of him killing a young teen because of her actions but excusing his own daughters. Doesn't this reflect on him as a parent most of all?

I think I'm looking to far into it all. I just wish it was something that it wasn't. Something that it could have been.

This looks like it could be exaclty what I want to see in in a Spider-man movie. I've been quietly getting excited for this but not wanting to get my hopes up too high since I saw the first trailer, but I am starting to get really excited now.

There were a lot of problems with the other Spiderman films, but the biggest one for me was that I absolutely hated Tobey MacGuire. So, yeah, it was never going to work.

So. This film was great! It was exactly what I wanted from a Spiderman film.

I also just saw the new Spiderman movie today and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It did have it's faults here and there, as most all superhero movies do, but for the most part I thought it was a lot of fun. Garfield and Stone were so amazingly cast too, and the chemistry between them was one of the best parts of the movie. I also couldn't help but think about how fucking weird and gooberish Maguire was as Spiderman after seeing Garfield properly fill the shoes.

My biggest complaint would be how fucking ridiculous the Lizard looked, it was just a little too over-the-top for me. I wish they hadn't used so much CGI either, I know it's necessary at times and can really enhance the film when used right, but I think they went just a little too overboard with it here. Also, a lot of the action scenes were a little lackluster, it's pretty clear from the film that Marc Webb doesn't really know how to do action, especially with that subway scene.

Other than that a few other small things, I thought the film was a lot of fun and definitely a worthwhile summer superhero flick. It probably would have done a lot better if it hadn't got sandwiched between the Avengers and the Dark Knight Rises though, and maybe Sony could have been a little more modest with their marketing for the movie.

Edit: Martin Sheen also made a great Uncle Ben, way better than the guy from the original trilogy. Also, the Stan Lee cameo in this one was my favorite of all the Marvel movie thus far.

Emma Stone has impressed me in everything I've seen her in to date, to the extent that I just made a point of going to imdb to find out what her name is, because I'm terrible with names.

Speaking of stupid CGI and clumsy action - did anyone else laugh out loud at the bit where Spidey is fighting the Lizard in the school and the Lizard stops to make a bomb from a chemistry set? That was a touch too silly.. haha.

i saw abraham lincoln vampire hunter last week. it had to be one of the worst movies i've seen in a long time. i didn't except much from it, but went to see it because i read the book. they changed almost everything about it and totally left out the fact that lincoln had more than one child. i wouldn't even recommend to redbox it for a dollar.
