It's a social music site, but you knew that.

Up to five people DJ in any given room. Anyone in the room can jump in an empty DJ spot. Each DJ can play a song of their choosing before moving on to the next DJ. There's a limited catalog on the site but you can upload anything you can't find. Your song can be rated up or down ("awesome" or "lame", the buttons say). Rating a song up will give the DJ a "DJ Point", which we'll get to later, and rating the song down may cause it to be skipped if enough people do it.

The DJ Points serve to facilitate a bit of a competition aspect. Not only can you accumulate large numbers of them (for example, futuristxen seems to be on a 50-point per day pace) such that the number speaks to your DJ skills, but you can also unlock different avatars that are at least slightly less lame than the default set.

If you just go in to listen, (e.g. go into a room and do not DJ) then you can use this sort of like Pandora and just listen to the music. Though, it's considered polite to occasionally vote up a song. It's nice because it's commercial free so far but the experience is a bit more raw than Pandora in that you're more likely to be challenged by what you hear, shifts in mood, and groupthink.

tl;dr: Up to 5 people play songs on a site with some social dynamics.

The site is currently in 'Beta'. I would imagine that in time it will be open to everyone, but you never know. Just look at Egypt.

This place is cool as hell but apparently I can't listen to the full song I'm playing? Also, is there a way to change my name?

Under Settings you can change your name to anything. You can listen to full songs as a DJ if there are more than one DJ in the room.

Aha! Yup, switched it up to my SFR handle so there's no confusion. I don't want to know your real names, except for those I already know, natch.
