Yes it is. And tonight a lot of his friends are celebrating his memory at First Avenue. I can't wait to hear about how that went.

I mentioned this on twitter but I might as well share this story here as well. I spent his bday with him 9 years ago during the Fill In The Blanks Tour. We had dinner at a restaurant, and when the cake came out with candles we all started singing Happy Birthday. The entire time we sang it he was yelling "ME, ME, ME, ME!" pointing at himself. That's something I've done every birthday since I saw him do it. Shit is fun and obnoxious.

Here's a rundown of what happened at the tribute show last night.

I made it about halfway through before the waterworks got turned on. Ahhhh. Yeah. Time for a walk.

Sounds like it was a beautiful show and very fitting as a farewell to him. Great review of it too...

There is wonderful sentiment in that piece.

Getting misty-eyed reading it. Damn.

I've seen video of this. Slug used it for promotion for YCIHMFWH. I wish I could find it. It's hilarious

very good interpretation of the night; wish I wasn't stuck in TX and could've been there. I still can't believe this is all real.

I was hoping something like this could be done from the moment I heard about his death. Im glad that it appears to have been done proper. I also hope this isn't the last time. Should be an annual thing, he deserves to be memorialized more than once in my opinion....heh...and in his opinion too im sure.

R.I.p. again homie

Here is a cool video I found with various interviews about the Blaze Battle back in 2000.

I thought it was worth posting for what KRS says at the end.

...and Eyedea certainly did.
