Man, last night was so much fun. Prayers for Atheists are quite possibly the tightest, dopest live band we have had the pleasure of sharing a stage with. If you miss the opportunity to see them live, you are fucking up, yo. Don't fuck up!

Sooo Sorry for sleeping on you guys. Great Show. The Height was good.
Mikal, you guys are rowdy live. Rowdy. Then PFA destroyed us.

It was so raw that the heat felt natural. that's how punk shows are supposed to be. Great meeting you guys. and again Great Show!

Thanks for gettin' there early and staying late Matt! Glad you had a good time. We're definitely coming back as soon as we can. Hopefully later this fall, winter/spring 2011 the latest!

From the PFA FB invite blog:

Prayers For Atheists @ Firehouse 13 - Friday, Aug 20th!!!

PFA returned from a 7.5 week 39 show tour on Monday. The shows were great. Some of the promoters/show organizers were lame, but most of them nailed it, and we're very thankful. Audience's around the country were super receptive and we picked up a bunch of new supporters, all while denouncing the wars in Iraq/Afghanistan/Pakistan/everywhere, sb1070, the bailouts, and boycotting BP/Exxon the whole way. It was a success by all accounts.

Unfortunately PFA's tour van, the "Black Beauty," broke down 3 separate times and overall van repairs and maintenance for the trip cost well over $1,700. Prolly shoulda just got a new van; cept' we were broke to begin with and the only way to do it was to pay as we went... and pray that it all worked out. DIY or DIE, baby bay-beh!!

This Friday is the Welcome Home/Get Out Of Debt/Van Fundraiser show. Mast had to back off the bill, as did a couple other bands we were initially working with for this event. That's the way the vegan-gluten free cookie crumbles.

So now it's going to be be a bunch of bands and poets we're friends with doing short sets basically straight from 9p-1am... A one day End Of Tour Van Repair Benefit Fest featuring a bunch of different styles, vegan baked goods for dirt cheap, and multiple Strange Famous Records grab bags up for raffle!

The Homecoming Show will be PFA's 40th show of the tour- it will also be the close of our 3rd nationwide trip of at least 20 shows or more in 13 months, and our 94th show since the Prayers For Atheists record release show last July. It's going to be a celebration and we're going all out to make it one of the most intense sets that we've ever done. PFA WILL BE GETTING ON IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT THIS TIME, INSTEAD OF PLAYING LAST!!

This is an important one for us and we'd really love to see ya there. Come on down and hang the eff out- spread the word to anybody who might be interested in coming!

FRIDAY, AUGUST 20TH @ FIREHOUSE 13:
Prayers For Atheists (victory punk)
Poorly Drawn People feat. Big Storm Davis! (hip hop)
Girl Haggard (rock/country-eastern/just added!)
David Carradine (power violence)
Providence National Slam Team (performance poetry)
To The Depths (sXe anarcho-hardcore)
with special guest hosts/celebrity appearances, raffle, and bake sale!

9pm/$7/ALL AGES
41 CENTRAL STREET
PROVIDENCE

TOMORROW NIGHT!!

God, it feels good to be home...
