The most impressive CGI I have ever seen...  Reply with quote

Sorry I can't embed.

This was made by one person, he is highly regarded to be one of the most talented people in the world as far as 3d modeling goes.

There is multiple instances in this vid that are absolutely indistinguishable from reality. It is too good.

Holy crap that was beautiful... and yeah, it was indistinguishable for the most part, looked like HDR photos come to life or something. Until the end it could've just been really pretty and perfect photography.

Yes! I love that guy. I've been meaning to learn more about him. How's he do all that??

That's like having a super power.

As far as I've seen you Raoul, you're not far behind. "The fireflies load their cannons." That set of photos was amazing my friend, pleas don't stop.

are some of the shots half fake and half real? like where the screen is split with two of the same image. or is this all cgi?

thanks for sharing the vid, i liked it a whole lot. i found the music to be extremely complementary to the images.

i'd like to see this guy do something like aliens and see how real he can make it. and conversely i want to see if the people that did transformers or district 9 can make stuff like this.

I think he's a specialist of sorts, but to me it's a clear indication of what happens when you let actual artists do cgi instead of computer geeks.
Computer geeks are why movie cgi is so shitty most of the time.

Hey OM3N you make me blush. good grief.

So..... That video takes like a week and a half to render (Word on the street says lol) with a dedicated $10,000 Nvidia graphics card.

You have got to be kidding me. A base of Google Sketchup and free CG textures? No Shit!

This video explains so much for a noob such as myself.
I've been twiddling my toes into the 3D morass for the past 5 years, never making the full effort to learn it.
This video is inspiring!

Damn! He makes it seem like childs play in that video. Haha

Unless you dedicate years to 3-d modeling, you probably won't be like this......

Yeah, I'm sure he's a monster.

But everything I do is cobbled together with chewing gum and baling wire anyway. This vid gives me hope that I can get a few key elements down solidly and let the good lighting and whiskey magic do their thing. That's my hope!
