Before he posted it he had already tweeted his enthusiasm about the song. He has also tweeted about the link. Great way to have your song promoted. Deservers all the attention, great great track.

Sorry, but this is shaping up to be one of the most seminal albums in the genres history. This might spawn a new genre. I can't express how excited I am for an album for once.

haha.. no offence AT ALL but that'd never, ever, happen. listen to radio 1 for any longer than an hour during the day and you'll hear everything that's on the playlist, probably twice. it's fucking drivel most of the time. the nice thing about some of the evening shows is that they get more of a free reign to play stuff like this, but it in no way translates to the general playlist.

but anyway.. that sounds needlessly negative so fuck it. 'hottest record in the world right now' puts you in some illustrious company and is definitely a good look. glad they played it twice too, because it took a couple of plays to grow on me.. i think it gets better as it goes on (the second half, after the guitar starts has a bit more 'structure'? to me, whereas for the first bit, the music is almost incidental)..

cant wait to hear the rest of the album.. this and 'slow man' have not at all been what i was expecting. shaping up nicely!

haha, it's fine, you're quite right actually. i was just a little giddy and sleep deprived. :(
i don't listen to radio 1 at all and i can hardly imagine chris moyles playing this. i'm not sure what dj's would play it actually.

there's a slim chance it could get some decent airplay on somewhere like 6 music though. if they don't close it down first.

WOW! Halfway through my first listen to this, at work with my headphones on, shutting it all out. Hairs rising up on the back of my neck, feel a tear welling. This is absolute perfection Sage. The gentle, ethereal glockenspiel, the insistent snare and that reflective, almost mournful take on life you seem to have adopted on both the releases from li(f)e so far. It's such a personal song, yet it chimes with me too. The music rises and rises and is as euphoric as it is tender and gentle. This is just the best thing I've heard in years. Congratulations man. Also, the Zane Lowe thing - playing it twice in half an hour, is huge. Radio One, even in the evenings, has a pretty narrow, conservative playlist - to break into that - twice - is significant.
I have my own little, internet-only radio show every Saturday night. I'll be closing the show with Best Of Times the next few weeks.

My favorite parts:

Conveniently religious on Easter Sunday and on Christmas. The television went from being a babysitter to a mistress. Technology made it easy for us to stay in touch while keeping a distance, ’til we just stayed distant and never touched. Now all we do is text too much.

Considered doing something that would cripple me.I wanted a wheelchair. I wanted the sympathy. I wanted straight teeth so then came braces. 4 years of head gear helped me change faces. It was the best of times. It was the end of times.

Don’t listen when they tell you that these are your best years.

I need this album now.

I was thinking the same thing actually... about the new genre/sub-genre thing.

Still hasn't worn off... listened to it again this morning when I got into work and it gave me the shivers.

Yeah, I've had this and slow man on repeat for about an hour and just noticed. Everyone keeps asking me what's on.

Filming the video with Kyle Harbaugh on May 1st. Hopefully going to have it ready for release when the album comes out on May 11th. That would be great.

Here's a video of Mark Isham listing the songs he's been listening to most this week. Gives a great amount of praise to the "Best of Times" joint.

You guys might know Mark Isham from the work we did together 3 or 4 years ago. Waterline and Good Fashion were the two songs that got released. I'm glad to see that he's still checking for what I do. I'd love to do more work with him.
