the 8.1 preview is available for download. I've been running it, and I think it is a decent improvement. I never use metro apps, period.

As far as games not working on Windows8, it is more than likely your graphics drivers. Did you try to update them? When i switched to 8.1 BF3 stopped working, but updating the NVIDIA drivers fixed the issue.

everything should be all up to date as far as i know

also about the 8.1 preview, it NEVER downloads, how did you get it to d/l, i always start it but it never finishes and always gets stuck, through the windows store. i gave up on it

I actually don't remember. I just looked today and found the link below were you can get the ISO file. Pretty sure Windows8 can handle ISO files without 3rd party tools now.

So I recently got an E63 error on my Xbox slim, which from what I can tell is an error with the hard drive. The Xbox works fine when I take the hard drive out, but red rings again when I put it back in, so my question is, do you think a new hard drive will fix this problem? Or could it possibly be something more serious? If I just need a new hard drive, anybody know the cheapest place to buy one?

Call Xbox Support and ask them, the slims may still be under warranty.

fired up the TMNT game, camera was a little shaky at first but Ive had fun with the first few levels. Fighting is like a less polished Batman. But I like the little jokes and commentary that comes with the game

Couldn't bring myself to start Metro: Last Light or Dead Island: Riptide.

Into Mars: War Logs now, which plays a lot like if the developers of Two Worlds: II had decided to knock off Escape from Butcher Bay.

It's an entertaining diversion but there aren't really many new ideas here. After State of Decay I expect better from XBLA games. :-(

i think it looks better than arkham city, i like the big city gotham better, i also like the look of batman and the characters in this one, i like the new gadgets so far, i feel now that ive seen this, its an advanced arkham city with a lot more to it, and even more freedom to do whatever as well, we'll see but im pretty sure now that this one is going to be what i wanted more of from arkham city

and MARK you really should get to Metro, you have 2 weeks til GTA V , and you may never play another vidya game for a while once its released

i was just telling a few friends this weekend this exact sentiment. i feel like any GTA games out I've played for a few months straight and never managed to discover everything, shoot every pigeon, or hit every secret jump. there's just so much to get lost in that eventually i lose interest.

but until that point comes it's fucking awesome.

I think it'll be harder to get bored in this one.

The game is fucking huge.

Then there's the online/multi with 700+ more missions.
