I thought it was actually pretty good. Ringo's son held his own on the drums which was impressive and I thought the stage/lighting setup was actually phenominal. I expected them to be bloated and wack and I thought The Who held their own.

My main beef was the sound quality of the TV mix. I kept adjusting my stereo settings, until I realized the broadcast was the one that sucked. There was no bottom end to it at all and the drums were kind of low in the mix. Bahstuds.

Nah, it was goddamn awful. Townsend kept fucking up his guitar parts and everything. There was nothing good about it. I did know it was Ringo's son playing drums, that's cool, but that's about it.

I thought the Who's performance was sweet..

my mind gets easily distracted by flashy things and all those green lasers in the beginning looked really awesome on a big screen HDTV with an HD satellite signal... the colors really popped. especially after 6 or 7 beers. i was mesmerized.

but watching it two mornings later on a small YouTube screen.. sober..... it's not as good as i remember it.
but it's still pretty good. it started rough but ended good..

I am extremely happy for the Saints!!! I must confess, however, that my joy was somewhat diminished when I remembered that Drew Brees approves of torture. Great game though. The Colts looked really good early and slowly fell apart after that brilliant onside kick to open the second half. Wow. Huge balls on that call. Nobody saw it coming. Congrats to the Saints! Looks like Peyton Manning is going to have to work extra hard to surpass Brady in excellence.

kHill... I hope I know you when you're 65 to see if you can still do that well with a show 40 years later. With that said, I'm sick of seeing ancient white dudes playing quarter century (or more) old music at halftime.

I thought this was a comparatively boring Super Bowl. I mean, the last two were so phenomenal that I didn't expect this one to compare, but it wasn't even as interesting as the championship games.

I'm with you on the half-time show stuff. When I found out that the Who was playing I had a what the fuck? moment. More like Who Cares? Amirite or amirite? Bring Freddy Mercury back to life and reunite Queen and I might be interested.

It doesn't matter how old you are...if you're gonna do that stupid, played out, softball wind up on the guitar...you should probably land it. He repeatedly missed.

Kala: Boo lol what u said

Dink: the who??? who dug these old ass dudes up n told them 2 perform

Christy: lmao! i was just thinking the same thing

Kala: Boo i have no idea but im jus wonderin who tha fuck they is? lol

They missed like two generations. They haven't been relevant in over twenty years and haven't been great in over thirty (i.e. when Keith died). I totally expected Pete to at least smash the guitar.

out of curiosity, has anyone ever heard of the 'second act rule' before this game?

even the game announcer was like, 'I had no idea that was a rule until someone came up and told me.'
