I love how he breaks it down about two hats. Even the most cunning arguments about why not to wear two hats are handily countered with his expert rhymes.
And yet, he cautions moderation, even when the glorious dream of more than three hats looms as beautiful as a crystal fucking angel in the Boise sky.
Curtis Plum will lead us to a better place. |

How serious is the risk of SFR running out of "Call my cellphone" copies in the next 2 months? I ask cause I'm kinda low on cash right now and was thinking on ordering it along with Sage's new cd when it comes out. |

We'll stay in stock as long as it sells. And probably a little while after it stops selling. It's a new item.
Here's a new review with some misinformation to boot from Accesshiphop:
Probably some of the strangest and most bizarre rap I've ever heard.
Not much is known about Curtis Plum but he found his way to Sage
Francis' Strange Famous Records with his very own full-length co-
produced by Reanimator. Curtis is essentially playing a character who
makes Casio keyboard beats and raps in a weird Katharine Hepburn
accent. Hip hop humor when done right can be really funny but often
annoying, oddly enough, Curtis Plum seems to have found some middle
ground here but you definitely get the vibe that this guy is a little
disturbed if it weren't for all the jokes. His character observes
both the un-cool and the uber hip in our society and tries to make
sense of it in his own way with rap about the subjects like "Bike
Cops," "Call My Cellphone," and "Vin Diesel." |

It's cool that the CD is being shown some love, but why did that person bother writing that review? Was it for his 9th grade english class the next day and he waited until the last minute? |

Well thank ya! I mastered it. And if you have any idea the kind of craziness I had to go through to make this sound even remotely professional (still not sure if I reached that point) then you'd insist that I receive a hiphop purple heart.
One of the best quotes I've received in regard to this album was from MC Lars:
"He's like if Wesley Willis and Slick Rick had a crazy white baby together." |

Played Curtis Plum for my dad last night. He wasn't sure what to make of it, but his favourite song was definitely "Vin Diesel."
Edit: We just talked about it some and I showed him "More Than One Hat." He's all over it. He's made 2 "Call My Cell Phone" references, asked me if Vin Diesel was my friend, and I think he's on the cusp of an "Up In Ya Face!" if I'm not careful.
My father is 64 years old and he loves jazz and the blues. |
