I think that if I saw Tool at Red Rocks that I might have really enjoyed it. Red Rocks is just that magical.

As it turns out, Opiate didn't hold up.

I knew radiohead would get brought into this. The unholy quadrangle of bands is:

tool
radiohead
ratm
mr. bungle.

At not point can a jag just be like, "i enjoy this shit," they have to bring it back to some other plane of musical talent and innovation. It isn't enough that you aren't into it, motherfuckers have to get all evangelical and tell you why you don't get it and the band is so much MORE than blank. No dog, it isn't processed pop music, it is something special.

Fans of any of the unholy quadrangle have to go door to door like latter day saints and jehovahs witnesses trying to slip a pamphlet hidden in a comic book on your ass.

See you in Hell.. from Heaven.

Post Kid A Radiohead likers are the universe slurpers and the smart kind. Having discernment and ambition.

I don't care for Tool, but every lady I've known who likes Maynard whats-his-face has been cool.

Your reply was clever and a cool read! I definitely dug it.

But The Bends is the best Radiohead album.

Sorry, but it is.

Tool ain't Nu Metal.

You can't fuck with Opiate, Undertow, or Aenima.

Great composition, great lyrics, great concepts, great everything.

Lumping Tool with Korn & Slipknot? Can't get with it.

Hooker with a Penis is one of my faves. Definitely marching music.

*I like Belle and Sebastian too.

I'm sorry if you were one of the people waiting in line all night before the album dropped. I respect that, I really do. They're all good albums but the Bends is the best as far as a complete package is concerned. It doesn't mean you have to take your Kid A posters down or anything...

Good thread. I never listened to Tool much but got dragged along to see them headline the All Points West festival in NJ this year and definitely respect their musicality and what they've made.

It seems like it must be really hard to exist in that world that dude must have to put himself in for all these years.

I like this song and a few others by Tool. Weird he didn't say the "Jesus won't you fucking whistle" part on the first chorus break.

Anyway, my opinion on Tool goes like this. I used to try and fall asleep while my brother played them through his cd player at night. It made me want to kill myself. A lot of the songs are just...god shut the fuck up and say something already.
