I dunno man. If antagonist, in this instance, just means "willing to debate the issue, given the chance" then yeah, I even I'm an antagonistic atheist.

But if you want to run numbers, theists are the ones most likely to be waving signs and blowing people up about the shit. I'd call that a bit more on the antagonistic side.

Really if anything, a lot of the comments in this discussion are dripping with irony over the "who cares" people caring so hard.

Oh yeah, and I also don't think atheists are particularly "hated" or persecuted in the U.S. At least not in the way people have deep, unreserved hatred for more tangible religious and ethnic groups. But that intangibility has more to do with it than the content of the ideological difference.

If atheists were more visually obvious, or culturally visible, or had some kinda atheist flag flying over all our houses, you'd better believe there'd be problems.

Nihilists! Fuck me. I mean, say what you like about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least it's an ethos.

Sorry. That needed out of my system. Carry on.

There was a guy who was in my German class in college that always wore a shirt that said, "Don't pray for me, I wouldn't fart for you." I always found it odd. Then he'd get into heated debates with the poor woman who was trying to teach us German. There was also a Romanian girl in the class who would come with her father and her mother would wait outside for them. That class was fucking weird.

I mean, be whatever you want. Do what you want, just don't make the people around you feel awkward and out of place. I think that is just a part of being courteous.

Personally, I believe it's the strange feelings and awkward situations other people can force you into that makes up the fabric of our lives. I look forward to a good heated debate, at least you can see some sort of passion between two people that you don't normally see. Also, if you want to be dumb enough to tell me about how wrong I am about Jesus, Allah...ect be prepared to get blasted with a huge intellectual "Fuck you, broski." And watch my hot ass waddle off into the sunset.

I always thought you could claim Buddhist and get the nod from both sides. Cuz it's like you believe in god, but not in the same way as other people, so it works.

God is a joke.

And I want to send out a special fuck you to people that say "I'm not religious but I'm spirtitual. Or "I believe in something. Collective consciousness. Whatever you throw out there someone else can grab on to."

Fuck you, I'd rather you just believe in Jesus than trust in some neo hippy, vague pseudo religiosity that you learned from a Kevin Smith movie.

Some one on here said one time that is is crazy that they have to call themselves an atheist while people who do not believe in Leprechauns or Santa Claus do not need a name to define themselves. That's how I feel.

God is for weaklings and people that are sentimental about their upbringing.

I think it was Charlie Main that once said something about God that I agree with.

I get what you are saying, and I agree. I was meant more along the lines of not engaging in a discussion, and just attacking or belittling based on personal beliefs. Like the guy in my class did. We'd talk about German geography and she'd bring up a church in a town or something and dude would go bonkers.

Personally, I am waiting for the day to be out with friends having a drink at a bar when all of a sudden some girl walks up to me asks me how I feel about religion. And before I even get my first sentence out she tells me to shut the fuck up and walks away.

I'd follow.
