Mostly I just wanted to round off these threads. May they be Forevers. Any liquor, of course, but I'm gonna write about bourbon.
I'm from Kentucky and people take bourbon here way too seriously. It's annoying, actually.
To drink over ice:
To drink in a Manhattan (i.e. my favorite way to drink it):
To give as a gift to someone who may or may not like bourbon:
Cheap but good enough for drinking with coke, in an Old Fashioned, cooking with, or making tinctures:

Jack Daniels.
I don't understand why I don't prefer something like jameson.
Jack, on the rocks. |

Haha. Tinctures. I love that word.
How about sake?
One of the more expensive sake out there. Made in Nara, the name "Spring Deer" is synonymous with the deer of Nara Park. It has a clean flavor that isn't too strong, yet is strong enough to perk you up a bit with your first sip. Great with yakitori, though don't have too many or you'll be paying a hefty tab. |

12-year Jameson on the rocks (when I can afford it) is my favorite. I also take a Black Label on the rocks or a Maker's Mark neat. |

i recently had the chance to try "british royal navy imperial rum". my sister in law brought a gallon jug of it up from vegas and we threw a pirate party. had no idea at the time that these jugs usually run about three grand. i don't think i could ever pay that much for any liquor, but it was definitely the best rum i've ever had by far.

I generally stick to beer and stay away from hard alcohol... Patron shots, or captain and coke are pretty much the only thing I drink besided beer |

You've got great taste in the Eagle Rare, Icarus. The 17 year is especially dope. I always buy up the 2-3 bottles that come to my local store around Christmas every year. I'm a big fan. |

I've been on a tequila kick this summer. I usually just go with straight shots of Jose Cuervo, but if I feel like splurging I'll get 1800 or Patron |

Not my everytime favorite, but the neatest to me. I mostly drink this because it is green. Look how lovely.
A blend of 130 herbs and like most things from the olden times- it tastes anisey.
Only three french monks are privy to the secret formula at a time. Tell your friends.
I dilute most everything I drink with limon anyway though. Whata sucker. |

I like Bulleit also -- that's a nice reasonably-priced one for sure. Maker's is still my go-to though... I like the vanilla hint in it.
I'm a Bombay Sapphire kind of guy most of the summer, moving to Maker's and cognac (generally Hennessey, but there's another one that's similarly-priced but better, but it's been too long and I forgot the name) during the winter months. I tried Laphroaig a while back and was amazed, but I don't have the money to drink Scotch. |
