when you wake up you need that first one to get to the muscle since you were fasting during sleep.
post workout shake helps rebuild with proteins and glycogen
before bed shake make sure its casein or milk protein so its aslow release while you sleep.
Travs on point here.
I work out a lot -and eat a lot.
Food

30 minutes later - breakfast

Anybody interested in becoming fitter should focus on cardio and diet initially then move on to targeting specific muscle groups.
A strong core is key to everything. Well defined abs won't be possible without increasing the strength and definition of every other part of the body.
Also maintaining and increasing flexibility is one of the most important goals everyone should have but almost everyone neglects. |

I mix it up because I get bored so easily.
Everyday I try to do an hour of cardio. I usually jog on the treadie or walk fast with the incline up because I have no calves, then go for an after dinner walk around the hood where there are lots of hills. I might do sprints during that, too. Depends on if I ate or will eat ice cream...my vice.
I'm really short and have a naturally muscular frame and bulk up SUPER easy (its not even fair I feel like the Hulk sometimes) so I use very light weights if any. Every other day I switch from upper body to lower. Upper is either 3lb weights with lots of reps or with resistance bands. Legs is many sets of grand plies, yoga ball for thighs, leg lifts alternating muscle groups.
I also alternate between abs and back each day with the yoga ball or just some crunches we learned in dance practice. I miss dance. It builds long, lean muscles and you get so strong.
I also looove mountain biking and more recently kayaking. I wish I had a job so I could buy both of those. I love activities where exercise and muscle building is a bonus. |

I work out. No real set ABC plan to it. Wake up, drink a shake. After I work out, drink a shake. Try to get 8 hours of sleep. If you want to build muscle, take in more calories. Make sure before you work out you have enough energy to burn. Don't work out for more than an hour at a time if you're trying to build muscle because you will just start burning muscle for energy. I'm no expert, this is just what works for me. |

i don't bench anything. i do tricep dips.
i'm on my pre-summer health kick this last month - daily i do 1 hour full speed cardio (elliptical trainer), 100 sit ups (vary between normal and side ones) and deep weighted squats. all i care about is a flat abs, a slightly bigger arse and good cardio health. |

Re full speed cardio:The elliptical machines at my gym have signs that advise against faster speed as this results in the momentum of the machine doing all the work. Resistance over speed, no? |

i keep the resistance up pretty high. i go full speed there because i can't run (i tore the tendon off my foot like a year or so ago & i have old gymnastic injuries to my knees). i am naturally not very big so my cardio is more for general fitness than weight loss. |
