cage is stupid.

makes me sick to my stomach for him to refer to his old fans as assholes.
they're the reason why he's even able to make this shit he calls art.

Word. It seems that a lot of artists expect their fans to be cool with whatever they want to experiment with or try with their music. Not all of them are gonna be crazy about the idea. On second listen this new album isn't all that bad, but it's still far from good. Oh well

So I'm gonna give this a good listen tomorrow on the way to and back from work. It's Cage, so I'm sure I will like it no matter what the beats sound like. But from the snippets I've heard, it sounds like regular Cage with some guitar on the beats.

I'll be honest, the beats are not really my cup of tea, but if I had a nickel for everytme a rapper chose beats or a direction that I didn't care for, I'd have a good 50 to 60 dollars.

If you like Cage and his writing, I'm sure you will like this. If you just liked him over mighty mi, necro, or def jux sounding shit, you night not like this.

For whatever reason, I just like Cage. I think his lyrics are always above par. the mean hates him cuz he acted a fool and said faggot once at a show.

You make spur of the moment, non thought-out music and some people don't like that you are not talking about more important things. You start talking about more important things, and some people just want you to rap about being crazy and dope. Then some people just judge you on what they first experienced you as (a la the mean) and it doesn't matter what you ever do to improve you music or perspective. If you are never going to give someone a second chance, what motivation do people ever have to grow as artists/people?

I don't envy rappers these days. And you wonder why people say fuck it and just do whatever they want.

This shit is not that experimental or different from his previous shit.

This album is now available in our store.

I wouldn't compare this to E&A. And vice versa. I think both groups would be uncool with being weighed against one another. There's more of a difference than there are similarities in their approach and execution.

Who thought it was a good idea to get that hatebreed guy to produce?

Jamey Jasta got his mitts on this? I have no idea what the beats sound like but I'd imagine that has something to do with why people are calling them wack. I wasn't a huge fan of Cage before this and now I have no reason to give him a chance. Eh.

Nah, the guitarist (edited to take out joke about Jasta's thumbs; uncalled for, even if the band is an abomination).

I am enjoying this album a good deal. Granted, I just started listening to Cage recently when he released his free EP, but this cd is pretty dope. I went back and got "Movies for the Blind", and "Weatherproof", and I already had "Hell's Winter", but I guess that EP got me more interested.
