I was just gonna make this post, with the exact same documentary, wondering why nobody else mentioned it.

How's that?
I think what a lot of Chinese learned from that era was that standing against tanks was a good way to get your ass vanished and a good reason to hang up your protest cap and start making money.

He stood in front of the tanks the day after the big massacre at the square. So June 5th would be correct in that sense.

The making money part didn't come until well after this era of Chinese history was over. The two aren't related in the sense that the people forgot what happened just to make money. They remember and when the time comes to cash in their freedoms check they will. If they don't, the peasants will. It's just a matter of time.

remind: As Jascha said June 5th is when the Tank Man stood in front of the tanks.

Oh yeah, the Frontline docu is the same I posted earlier. I was talking about the youtube video with Mario Savio's speech. Crash was a little lazy in posting that link, but I didn't care enough to call him on it.
