Haha... walking around with a hard-on because you are wearing dress pants and things are rubbing is never fun... I can agree with that last bit.

For what it's worth, my closest friend I still have from growing up was uncut and "turtledick" became the mantra. His mother (a midwife who was in many ways my mother, too) explained to him the whole thing. He was not at ALL sensitive about it and even wore it as a badge of pride to a certain extent.

I remember him being very keen on mentioning how sex feels better for him, and now in retrospect I realize that was probably something his mom told him to say because he wasn't sexually active at the time to my knowledge.

Then again, I remember him getting violently angry about being woken up to pigpen screaming "rumpleforeskin!!!!" in his face 30 times at 8 AM because he thought it was funny. But that probably didn't have to do with the dick thin.

But - I will say, he grew up to be a very well adjusted cat and his mom is one of the people I respect and love more than just about anyone else on the face of the planet. She made growing up an oddball SO much easier. Haha.

Actually, when I talked to her about the twin towers going down her response was "I thought they were ugly when they went up". Heh.

Thank God the world isn't run by the WeDueThis consortium. C'mon, dude, you're spitting out little blurbs of faux meat market braggadocio and referencing porn as a legitimate example. Neither of those things have any bearing on this discussion, and are on some red herring shit from freshman year on the debate team. I've never advocated the banning of anyone on this forum, but you're creeping in on sponsorship with a quickness.

And a loss in sensitivity is probably a plus.

Did that really need to be said? Kind of obvious that uncircumcised guys wouldn't find uncircumcised dicks weird and vice versa.

I was referring to people without dicks as well, you know, females. I just find it funny that the only people I ever hear complain about it are other guys that are circ. themselves, almost like they are jealous or some shit (I realize that probably isn't the case, it just kind of seems like it a lot of the time).

My bad, thought you were talking about men. But I think it's obvious why they would find it weird because it's different than theirs.

I don't know the science, but I'm uncut and I'm glad. It's never caused me any problems. I'm actually quite proud of it. I'm also proud of my parents for not having me and my brothers circumcised.

I think circumcision is fucked up. It's fucking insane that parents sit around and deliberate over whether or not to cut off a piece of their kid's dick without his consent, guided by ignorance and the societal pressure to conform. To me, it seems to be part of the larger issue of the parents' right to brutalize, subordinate, and exploit their children solely by virtue of having "squeezed them out," which I find very problematic.

Ultimately, Scottie, it's up to you and your wife, but I would hope that you take this decision very seriously and base it on reason and compassion.

There are a lot of decisions made by the parents that are guided be societal pressure that may end up messing up the kid in the long run. This is just one of them.

My main concern was with the more recent data showing alarming higher rates of HIV, Herpes and HPV for the uncut. Icarus steered me to the right group to counter the medical study.

Yes fear of the unknown and society pressure does play a part in this decision so that is why I am trying to get logical information to combat and focus on the rational case for and against.

I personally think circumcision is pretty brutal ...

I'm quite surprised by some of what I've read here but I realise it's still 'the norm' in the US. In Australia the practice is significantly less common. I remember one time during high school that a circumcised dude had a few gentle jokes made at his expense - the opposite of the kind of 'problem' being mentioned here. That was about it. In general people here don't really seem to care much either way and girls won't find either unusual at all.

That you -- of all people -- or your friends haven't thought about it isn't a testimony to its unimportance.
