Sage I think back in the day you were more..."rappy". I think your style has evolved much more. You say more...with less words...now. Still I like your "non-prophets" style of rap... to show up...here and there...

I think what people might be getting at is that perhaps songs from this era you sounded more humble, more vulnerable, trying to find your way in the world type vibe. Over the years there has been a hint of knowitallness, I am right you are wrong mentality, I'm smarter than everyone type thing creeping into the music, that is honest as I can be. Im not saying all newer songs have that mentality but some of them do and I am not saying it's a bad thing, it is what it is. I like this song.

Yeah, that's what I meant about the lisp. It was a... humble lisp.

I can dig that. But what's particularly ironic about that is...I was certain I knew it all at age 19 (which is when this song was made.) Not so much now. I think the main difference is I kept a steady, flatline flow back then. And as my delivery and writing styles developed, the song writing began hopping trains throughout the song.

From what I've heard, this is pretty accurate. Your early stuff seems to be far less complex in intonation and cadence, but it fills the space more than a lot fo your current tunes. (Seemingly) more rhymes, denser, more straightforward structures in the old stuff. An MC's MC.
