ha. the reason why i mention it is because somehow people on this forum people manage to mention donnie darko in at least one out of every ten threads.

i think it is the forum favorite?

I remember liking it, but not LOVING it. However, my perception of the film has been warped by excessive gushing love & hatred for it by people to the point where I don't even know where I stand. I think I'll watch it again soon and see what happens.

I remember (i think) the director's cut being significantly easier to understand what the fuck is happening than the theatrical release. Either that or vice-versa. Anyways, I feel like this forum would be split on this movie. Is it really a favorite?

I think it should be if it isnt already. I used to listen to the soundtrack quite often...that was kind of depressing.
But im interested in how the sequel will be.

I remember icarus had some spiel on Donnie Darko and it's popularity among "Blakes" or some name like that. It was clever and I wanna read it again.

Donnie Darko is an alright movie.

YESSSSSsssss!!!

Thank you for bringing this back.

I recently met a long lost brother and sister. They are Donnie Darko freaks. Haha...I love how this keeps coming back.

I have the movie score to that movie and listen to it quite frequently.

Icarus has good criticisms of this movie and others like it, but it's just one of those movies I can watch and totally enjoy.

I think one of the things that makes it so brilliant is how well they captured the 80's. And the characters are great. And the soundtrack is killer. And Donnie Darko is very Katie Lang. There's no denying this wonderful flick.

Picked it up on DVD cause it was something like $5 and I had heard a lot of good stuff about it. First time I watched it I hated it and didn't really get it. A movie nerd friend told me to watch the commentary, which I did and it tied a lot together and I really enjoyed it.
