| Sage Francis in Canada with Rise Against 11/29-12/11 |
|
|
I will be touring with the punk group, Rise Against, in Canada from Nov 30-Dec 11th.
Though I have played Canada many times, this is my first official tour of Canada. The last tour I did with a punk group was the Against Me! tour. I faced a fair amount of resistance from uber punk kids, but it was mostly love. I hope for the same this time through.
One more date will be added in Winnipeg.

I happen to be off work for an entire week starting on the 8th and I have people I need to visit in Ottawa and Montreal. This works out really well for me. |

I was at the NYC show with Against Me!, I thought the crowd was reasonably receptive. I didn't hear any boos or horrible heckling. there were a couple of kids in the back making snide remarks, but nothing too disparaging from what I remember |

In Jacksonville the soundguy shut my power off.
In other cities I had yelling matches with crowd members.
I never lost my cool. It's something I totally expect at shows like these.
But I lose my temper when heckling happens at shows where I'm the headliner. If I'm opening for a band of a different genre I'm totally prepared and willing to fight the tide. |

My friend and I opened for Dizzee Rascal in Philly once. I was not having a good night cause a friend of mine had just died and I was in no mood for those assholes. I almost fought like 3 people in the front row. |

hey sage....i don't mean this as disrespect, just out of curiosity.
why tour with major label punk bands instead of more indie bands, like epitaph bands for example? i remember you doing some shows with bad religion (i think)...
rise against is definitely still doing their thing the same on a major as they were on fat, so i don't want to get into all that shit, but i was just wondering about the major label vs. indie band crossover thing. |
