I think those of us who reside in Portland should have a group date at this show. A friend of mine from London shipped me Angles a bit back and I'm really, really digging it. And lord knows I'm obsessed with The Failure, so I'm fired up for this show. Needless to say.

Mr. Dolan, I look forward to meeting you. Jared will tell you that I'm a big asshole. Don't believe him.

dolan -

this "new shit" you speak of -- is this "new shit" going to be along the lines of "le shit" we saw in the clips of you and sage performing in france?

the paradise is an interesting choice...do they ever have hip-hop shows there? i've definitly never been to one there.

I've seen quite a few shows there but no, never a hip hop show.

I saw Dresden Dolls there, Rasputina ummm...World Inferno....Guerlla Sleepytime Museum (not sure if that's their name or if I'm making it up in my head). So...I can see how indie hip hop will work there, f'sure.

edit: It's "Sleepytime Gorilla Museum"

Ozomatli played there... but I guess that still isn't quite hip-hop.

pretty sure that's where i saw saul a few months ago... but my memory isn't sharp enough to move that above a 90% chance.

It is.. I was there too. Pretty good venue for him. And for hip-hop in general, I think it could definitely work as well.

Also, (probably difficult to say) is it gonna be necessary to get tickets in advance for that one?

That's cool that some MTL cats from this forum are going to a SFR show. Usually I'm the only one it seems.

It's too bad you guys are playing TWICE here and both shows are 21+. I was pretty damn excited, too.

Went to the Austin show last night. It was a swell time. Not sure how much Dan is doing live on the computer (definitely some tweaking and clicking tracks on and off) but the music sounds amazing in that kind of atmosphere and he was a real nice guy. He sang the hooks to a full recorded background i believe which made the sound nice and full. I enjoyed Scroobius as well but they played at the Beauty Bar.... note to artists... never play the Beauty Bar. It's a pretty crappy club full of pretentious twats and has HORRIBLE sound for live music. It's hard enough understanding what Scroobs is saying because of his accent but add the super muddled sound and it was difficult comprehending anything except the choruses. I was standing on the side of the "stage" and even Dan stopped between a song and came over to me saying he couldn't hear a thing that was going on (I also have beef with floor level stages, hate that).... Despite the sound and lack of B Dolan it was still a fun show. Congrats on the album and best of luck on the rest of the tour.
