This thread (and Lants in general) makes me happy.

This was my favorite.... he's like a little old man/fat kid combination, dribbling juice all over the place:

Also, they look like Junior Soprano.

when i was little i used to "collect" turtles every summer... put em in a big pen in my back yard, sometimes i'd get upwards of 12-15 before i let them go in the woods when school started... they wree mostly box but occasionally mud, snapping, or painted... i was obsessed, every time it'd rain i'd go out turtle "hunting"...

they do the funniest thing when you feed them a bug, as soon as the see it they run up to it all fast and then the halt to get a good look at it... after assessing the targets location and projected movement, they tilt their little heads to the side and chomp! the results can be gruesome... veggies make for better pictures.

here's a dude i rescued from subrubia this summer... he had no fear, he would have made an awesome pet but i don't have the time these days to build a proper pen, so i let him go in the park.

this is us cruisin the hood:

What a great thread. I've never enjoyed looking at or reading about turtles before (besides the band), but now I can say that I do. Good post, Lants!

I know a family that has two huge turtles in their back yard
seriously there real big massive mofo's, they had dug a hole for them to chill in but those fuckers dug huge deep long tunnels beneath the house so my friend spent weeks filling that whole up recently
one of the kids who is 15 hates them he's always bitching about having to feed them
I wish I had pics of them, their prehistoric looking

I can't believe how much I enjoyed this thread.
The turtle against the mountain of mashed potatoes is the best!!
And one of'em look like spawn.

I had one when I was 7. I named him, Freddy Krueger. I loved him. He loved me. When I was 9 I was told that he had escaped from his pen into the mountains where we were living, and that he was going to eat fresh fruit and get huge and live for 100 years. In retrospect I'm quite sure that the horrible little dog that my sister adopted that summer ate him.

I'm going to call my mom and ask about this right now. This is a serious moment for me. Thank you Lants.
