skyscraper...that MOVES  Reply with quote

even though it reminded me of 'cube', this shit is amazing- a skyscraper which features storeys that move, powered by wind turbines. the building never looks the same from day to day. leave it to a florentine

this blows my mind. maybe part of that is that it hasnt been done before, not even in a much smaller scale. YOUR VIEW WOULD CONSTANTLY CHANGE. as would up and downstairs neighbors. you could plan if you should party or not according to the weather and who will be above and below you that particular night. or not.

What is really interesting is the wind turbines are designed to make the whole building energy independent. How is that even possible? This is the type of design that needs to be pushed..

Never mind the extraction process.
You ever worked on an oil rig?
Go up to the Alberta Tar sands, working conditions are terrible. I had to cremate Sam McGee one evening.

dubai is a silly, stupid place that exploits and abuses workers to build, as someone already said, play-houses with no practical use since there is no fucking economy out there, just rivers running with oil wealth. fuck there spinning dreidels.

Oil is currently over valued...thats my prediction. We've had a tech bubble, a housing bubble, and now an oil bubble. I'm sure oil is different cause its a commodity and a non renuable one at that. Still have a feeling from what I've read that producers, oil companies, & speculators are getting extra fat right now knowing full well that this won't continue forever.

They are still pushing the envelope of construction. Self sufficient buildings and shit, that's the way of the future.

Thats amazing and everything but I have enough trouble as it is contemplating normal skyscrapers. I dont think I could handle such a thing. It might be difficult for me to get to sleep I think.
