He's kind of a big deal right now.

I feel like he (she?) is the voice of something I hate, like the Star Wars lightsaber kid.

The DVD will take quite a while longer to put together.

We have footage up the bahzing.

Is that a thing?

Whatever the case, we have so much good footage. It's going to take a while to sift through and arrange properly. It's going to take as much work as an album if not more. So...eh. Tough call on when it will be ready. I suppose early 2009 is a good estimate.

Id love the dvd to come with your next album. Maybe it would be a extra incentive...for people to BUY the album rather than burning it months before (and later not buying it). It seemed to work for Brother Ali.

There are a few things you're missing here.
Putting together the kind of DVDs that I do (which is only one DVD so far but it's not the kind that I've seen any other musician do) takes as much time as an album and it costs more. So if I am to put together another DVD, I don't think I'd be happy with including it as a free item with my album. I believe it deserves more attention than simply being a sidekick item to the album. A proper DVD takes more than $20,000.00 to put together. I could put a few things on DVD and include it with my next album, but that's not a proper DVD...and I wouldn't want to confuse people into thinking that that's what my DVDs are like.

As for what worked for Brother Ali, there are a few things that worked for him. I don't think it was the DVD so much as it was everything else. I've never heard anyone mention the Brother Ali DVD. In fact, I didn't know he had one til you mentioned it right now.

When I put together the DVD I want it to be it's own thing. Maybe I'll include a free album with it.

Hmmm good point. Yeah well one of the things that worked for Ali is getting on freakin Conan....here it comes...grrrrrrrrr...

Epitaph where is the hook up!?

2009 is the year..I know ive said this since 05...heh.....but damn how much longer can they keep sleeping on you...how many Paid Dues (literally and figuratively) do you have to do!? :)

Well all rant/vents aside...thank u for responding....I had no clue how much it cost to make a dvd...so that was interesting to read. Either way Im going to be amped to see what goodies the album comes with.

I'm sure it's not my place to say it...but what the fuck is with everyone telling Sage how to put out his shit all of a sudden? Maybe I just never noticed it before.

I've been reading threads all last night and today and there has to be like...10 instances in the past month of people trying to give this cat advice on how to do shit he's been doing for quite some time. Successfully. In a compelling way. Between the DVD, the "progressive" (for lack of a better term) rap albums, the more "conventional" hip hop material, the poetry record, etc. etc. etc....how much more do you want dude to show of himself? How about he rents fans tickets to sit in the glass cage he has in his room and watch him sleep? Would that be enough?

I mean, there's always been an element of "It would be cool if..." on any artist's message board...and I can dig that...but yo....dude knows what he's doing.

He's someone I trust to bring me the right shit, at the right time.

I don't recommend operating procedures to my doctor, either. Call me strange...if not famous. Nahmean? Relax.

The review was dope...sounds like y'all had a great time. The porno angle that site took was corny. I can't organize my thought right now. Good day.

Messiah.

You need to put out a concept album with a bonus coloring book and a $10 mail-in rebate for buying the album.

And I command you to do a duet with Ricky Martin.

Now.
