the LA spoken word show. 9/5/07  Reply with quote

I really hope that people in the area can make it out.
We are filming this performance for the next DVD!!!
Spoken word with myself and Bernard Dolan.
Catch it while it's fresh.

The two spoken word shows we played before this were special events. Standing ovations at the end and encores. Which is weird...but I'm not complaining. Lots of laughs and maybe even some tears (but we're not allowed to mention that.)

I'd love to see as many people at this event as possible. This one feels important for some reason.

9-5 Los Angeles, CA Ivar Theater

$19 advance, $19 day of show
doors at 7:30pm, show at 8:30pm

I would love to go to this show. I saw this show posted a few days ago and noticed that I cannot work around my budget and ticketmaster ($31). I've been dying to see Sage do an entire spoken word set. The 3 hour drive isn't a problem, but being broke is.

I remember a few years ago, when I was under age and couldn't drive, Sage had a show (i think a spoken word show) somewhere in Los Angeles and I wanted to go so bad. Reliving the moment again. Can't wait for the DVD.

the half empty glass was once full till i started drinkin,

the luck of the drawl tainted by giant pixi stix in the hands lying lincolns

crying victums of self infliction trying tricks to get attention

missread the blank pages of the book that shows no mention

to the ones who wrote it now the ones who quote it speak in silence

in slow motion while show boatin causin commotion and middle eastern violence

relese my eyelids, slam em shut and see deep greens and violetts

thin strings from violins, hang pre-teens and crying kids

while green teas and vitamins is right out there reach

the drugs doctors prescribe em. fucks em up, but who am i to preach

filty streets makes for uncomfty beds. where kids lay there heads and use the ppl who walk on em as a blankets

curbs as pillows trash as teddy bears and there lives and rental payments

lifes a gift, never look at it in the mouth, take it for what it is not for granted like overeatin at grandmas house

get your cameras out, turn on the telvision, 24 hours of news without no intermission

sins forgivin by the man in the booth

but we cant trust our kids wit em now tell me that aint the truth

amored tanks and troops walk in circles and loops in search of proof to add the final knott to the nuse

on a wild chase but its not after a goose

but the needs of a nation who chooses to overuse

so i guess that means that war does get you far

well at least as far as putting 20 bucks in your car?

plus riding bicycles is way out of style

why ride em now

when i can drive alone in the carpool lane sportin a wide smile

5 miles to the gallon, yes im countin, you high horse riden have a wife but your pipin' your acountant

droundin in debt but your front yard still has a fountain

upper middle class racist white trash beat ya wifes ass 3 times a week but whos countin?

the tentions mountin

sound the alarms, hold your children in your arms race

star gaze for hours while higher powers start to look like scarface,

our leaders got us stuck between iraq and hard place

i walk a thin line between my thoughts and a hearts pace

a card game is played but you picked the wrong card ace

charred remanes hide under tarps while body parts create walkways

now take a step back, and take a look at your painting

the canvas is torn and tatterd and scatterd with change from the price that were paying

dont give me those eyes cuz i was just sayin

we aint gettin the things that we was promised can i please get a amen.

is the dvd actually going to feature the full performance, or is it for snippets?

i'd love to make it out there, but a 12 hour drive is too much for me. i would definitely buy that dvd, though.

I've been looking forward to this show since it went on sale. I'll be there with my lady; she's excited too. I've never been to this venue though. The original site (Silent Movie Theater) had seats. Don't know much about this one except it's 2 blocks from Amoeba. Has anyone been to a show here before?

I hope to arrive with three friends.
Will we get in if we're buying tickets at the door?

And Mr. Francis.
When is the best time for me to rush you with my camera phone?
