I've always been fascinated by the ineffable mental level a person has to be on to not be nervous being interviewed on talk shows or doing live tv. The vast majority of celebrities stick very close to a memorized story to talk about on talk shows because they are so not at ease. SNL is the greatest venue for studying this sort of thing. Anyway, this is why JT is cool and why I like him. This kid is on the level... he is loving every minute on snl while guys like Val Kilmer or Harrison Ford are one breath away from shitting their pants in similar situations. I have to admit I enjoy watching celebrities fail miserably at being on this level more than watching the rare one attain it... but you have to respect it when you see it. |

thanks for posting this.. best thing about Christmas this year so far. I love the R. Kelly reference, "See, I'm wise enough to know when a gift needs givin'"... I'm sure andy sandberg is behind the production and writing of all great SNL songs. The shit he does with the lonely island is beautiful.. |

Mr. Show's humor is different. They're not slapping you in the face with their dick like SNL did. I think both videos can co-exist.
They should have YouTube take that down.. that video in the middle of the movie is the only redeeming part of an otherwise complete disappointment. |

Did you just call Run Ronnie Run a disappointment?
I mean...he coulda chosen a better character from the show to go with - but seriously...I love that movie.
The Jack Black kick in the cunt part is so amazing. |

Fuckin' weinerboy? haha..
whatever sneeb, don't get mad.
Like red said they can both co-exist,
and y'all were talking like the comedic "smooth duo" was new.
But i definitely think that the SNL guys got this idea from Mr. Show. |

Cmonnnnn. I was mocking those videos when they were OUT. I was 12 going "girllll... mmmm... you're just always on my mind"
It doesn't matter... Mr. Show wasn't the first either. They had their own original concept and so does dick in a box. Dick in a box rolls off the tongue like its actually a french phrase meaning "the ineffable fabric of a man's soul"... and it is sung with comedic timing and musical talent. It's good, eat crud you |

The movie had its moments. Overall I think it was so/so.
What makes it a disappointment is that I've seen the show. Mr. Show was hilarious nearly every moment golden and then they threw some golden showers on top of it just to make it even better. The movie was a disappointment and Bob even said so himself.
EDITED because by the time I was done reading the article again I'd forgotten which one wrote it. |

I didn't read the article, but Ronnie Dobbs is TOTALLY Cross' character...so fuck what Odenkirk thinks. ;-) He's definitely the lightweight of the team in my opinion.
As a side note, I read the Mr. Show book, and it totally solidified my respect for both of them. |
