Funny I should read this thread today, just been in town with me lass looking for detox programs for 5 days, we been talking about doing detox for a few weeks, but its all mad expensive...the one Sage posted sounds pretty wicked, I just recently started recovering from glandular fever (mono, kissing desiese whatever) and servier tonsilitus so my body is full of all kinds of antibiotics and shit which I wanna get rid of plus the festive excessive amounts of alcohol.
I'm gonna turn into a skeleton if I do this cos I still havent put the weight back on I lost from been ill but its deffinatly worth doing I think.

Lovely, hope 2003 is all good for you all.

This is my hypoglycemic nightmare. I would be in a faint-pile in a corner within four hours.

Coffee enemas, however, are a thing of beauty.

Maybe "beauty" is the wrong word.

This is very good for you. It cleanses your intestine as well. Me and my mom did it for eight days. The first day is difficult, but it gets easier.

i was j/k anyways...no worries

but honestly, regimines like this shouldn't be used as a way to lose weight (not implying that's what you're after, but just as a btw). Plus, you should be in pretty good health to attempt such an extreme change in diet. People who have health problems, eating disorders, etc, can use other methods for detoxification that are easier on their bodies such as combinations of herbal detoxifiers with immune system flushers like aloe vera and digestive cleansers like psyllium fiber, etc., not to go into too many details, but there are other methods.

Be careful  Reply with quote

I dont know if this is a good idea, I have heard that it doesnt cleanse your body at all, but actually screws with your blood flow because you are not getting the proper nutrients. I would especially advise those who are in sports to not do this, because your performance will not be well due to lack of real food. Salt water will also dehydrate.
just be careful

I think it's quite common for medical professionals to hold fast to their individual paradigms. I think we need to get a bit more in touch with what works for us on an individual level and do that-- some people can't eat meat and/or sugar and in those cases it's best to eliminate what ails you.

I have known quite a few naturopaths who have gone weeks on fasts like this (less the salt water) and felt wonderful in the end. Again, to each their own, we all lead different lives and require different solutions.

With all the shit we put into ourselves it makes sense to give our bodies a break once in a while, give it an opportunity to shed the build-up.

Just my .02 cents.
