Oct 3-6 Newcastle (2 hours north of Sydney) - show is Fri Oct 5
Brisbane Thurs Oct 10
Adelaide Fri Oct 11
Melbourne Sat Oct 12
Sydney Mon Oct 14

I'll be at the Sydney gig. Make sure to bring a whole bunch of CD's too, because lately i've been faced with the pirates dillemma. I don't wanna download your music, but it's damn near impossible to buy it out here, and i dont have a credit card, so net buying isn't an option.
Anyway, i guess the dilemma has been solved.
Also, where is the best place to get updated details of the tour? This message board, or the actual site or what?

Folks
The Sydney gig is Monday Oct 14 at the Hopetoun Hotel w/The Herd and Morganics. Sorry this cannot be all ages but the venue situation is too tight at the moment and Sage is only in the country for a short time. October has suddenly filled up with touring acts from the big festivals - Livid, Parklife, Bellingen Global Carnival - and this means all the local venues are booked way ahead.
If you need an all ages thing then get to Newcastle for Sage's MC workshops - Friday Oct 4 and Saturday Oct 5. These will be 90 minutes freestyle sessions with lots of interaction - more than a show would have. And more than the ones we did with Sole, Dose One and Jel at last year's Sound Summit too.

Is an MC workshop where they teach you how to MC? Hmm i know i don't have the talent for that so i think i'll stick to the Sydney show.
But where in the hell is Hopetoun Hotel??
Also, if anyone from these boards is going and would like to meet up, that would be cool, because my friends aren't really into hip hop that much, even though i'll be able to drag a few along they probably won't dig it. |

MC Workshops in Newcastle will be like freestyle slams. You can participate or you can watch & listen.
There are production workshops too where people deconstruct their own tracks - Danielsan from Koolism and Ashley from Katalyst are doing the specifically hiphop ones. There are also ones on remixing with Manitoba and Frost and a guy called Dscico who makes bootleg cutups and pop mutilations with an autoamted system he built with Reaktor. It will blow your mind. Check his total destruction of Nelly at www.4trak.net/dsico.
The point of the production and mc workshops is to give people an insight into how artists/musicians make what they make. Demystify it and share.
Where is the Hopetoun Hotel? Its a pub on the corner of Bourke and Fitzroy St in Surry Hills. Where Frigid is and an old indie rock pub since the 70s. Takes about 300 ppl max which is fine for a monday night. |
