WORST live show  Reply with quote

Anti-pop consortium takes the cake in my opinion

They opened up for Shadow in chicago and the levels were shit. The mics were shit. All one guy did was hit pads on the drum machine. wack. wack beats.

I saw Aceyolone a few months ago and wasn't impressed at all. I wouldn't say he was the worst but pretty close.

Living Legends suck live!

The only guy who seemed to care about putting on a good show was The Grouch.

The rest took turns groping this girl sitting in a chair on stage followed by many blunted attempts at "freestyling" whilst forgetting half their written lyrics. ( I got pics of both)

Potheads on the mic get the bozack.

amon tobin

i saw him a couple days ago with rjd2 not really having any idea what to expect. homeboy sat behind two turntables. didn't do anything. nothing. he changes records when the track was finished. weakest fucking attempt at a live show i've seen in a long while.

EDIT: i forgot to mention how shitty his levels were. you really couldn't make out anything about 5k cuz it was getting drowned out by the excessive low end. i love bass as much as the next kid but jiminy christmas, i at least want to hear the melody being played over that low end. fuck the sound man at bimbo's. i hope it ain't the same dude working the prefuse show next month. i may actually have to go punch him in his ear. maybe it'll re-align his cochlea or or ossicles or some shit.

I have to agree that the Living Legends were one of the worst shows I've ever seen. They were terrible, as someone else said, Grouch seemed to be the only one who gave half a shit, and he really only did give half a shit. Other than that, the worst hip hop acts I've ever seen were mostly local shit back in Michigan or out here in Eugene.

D12 is definitely way, way, way high up on the list, as are a terrible group by the name of the Phat Killaz, consisting of members of the Almighty Dreadnaughtz, who are also terrible live. However I had no expectations for any of these fellows and that was what made the LL show so disappointing.

That said, the worst live hip hop performance I've ever seen was without question Slum Village. They did one of the things that has always made me hate live mainstream shows; the fuckers rhymed over their own vocal tracks. How lazy is that? The worst part about it was that they didn't even kick at least 1/4 of the lines, and just let the record play and danced around like morons. I was so pissed off.

Not really music but I saw the Rocksteady crew a few weeks ago and they seriously performed for 10 minutes.

I was so hyped after the 2+ hours of local stuff, and then they had to go and do that.

cannibal ox.

cold vein is one of the best albums of the past 5 years, but live...dreadful.

good thing mr lif was there, a real entertainer and just full of energy...clear concise delivery and at least acts like he's having a fun time

I saw Murs and PSC on tour with Brother Ali.

Murs is wack, PSC is ok. However, since Brother Ali was there, they shouldn't have even tried. Brother Ali kills it live. Murs doesn't.
