a great book to read is Mere Christianity by CS Lewis - He was a "hardcore" well read, oxford schooled atheist who became a Christian. He is the foremost voice for Christian philosphy in the past century (ie. he knows his shit)
- There are very intelligent and loving Christians in this world from all sorts of backgrounds, as there are closed minded stereotypical texan ones. -

Lets keep the minds OPEN on both sides of the "arguement."
Lets also do a little research before we post silly responses.

maybe I'm just silly

bye.

please, CS lewis is not a philosopher. He is a christian apologist. Just because he writes well doesn' make him a philosopher.

Lewis is like Rand, except that Lewis doesnt' pretend to be a philosoher.

Anyway, I wouldn't recommend reading Mere Christainity unless you are already a christian. It has no arguments in it that will convert or even interest a non-christian, but if you are alreayd a christian it might stregthen your belief.

EDIT: but anyway, this thread was a joke Hype, not a real argument.

It's really hard finding an original sin.

"oh father i've commited adultery"
"I've heard that one before, hardly original"
"oh... well, I poked a badger with a spoon?"
"Ah thats a good one. Do 5 hail marry's and three hello dollys"

Eddie Izzard rules.

Christianity is just guilty people looking for company.  Reply with quote

Ever seen the movie Original Sin? It's a stinker, but Angelina Jolie spends half her screen time topless. Just thinking about it makes me want to go sin.

As many times as possible.

And leaving my sinful marks all over the carpet in a dozen places.

I like sinning.

So your born and right away you have a life of feeling bad for what you do, that's retarted. Religion is a way to brainwash the masses, it's silly and outdated. Being a Christian isn't wrong it's just dumb, think for youself and live for yourself because this is life and their isn't a fancy afterlife. Sorry to break it to ya.

this board is so insane. its like some closed minded rally. like the internet klan or some shit.

i dont think i've seen one person around here claiming to be christian... and there is always a christianity bashing thread.

i dont think i've seen one person around here claiming to be gay... and there are gay bashing threads/posts.

lets all find other groups who arent here to defend themselves and bash the hell out them! it'll be great!
