Yuma,

your ignorance never ceases to amaze me.

Let us get one thing straight. There are TWO common definitions for Anarchy in the english language:
1. is what you are referring to. chaos, violence etc..
2. is what Anarchism refers to, a form of libertarian socialism.

Quote:

Anarchism (social): A proposed classless, stateless socialist society of directly democratic self-governing communities and workplaces freely united in a confederation by a system of mandated, recallable delegates. Decisions flow from the bottom up and are based upon intensive discussion by those affected by them. Production is for use, not profit, and the community owns and workers control the means of production. Anarchists think that direct democracy within voluntary associations and the abolition of wage slavery is the best way to maximize individual liberty. Also known as libertarian socialism or libertarian communism.

from this political glossary: http://home.att.net/~Resurgence/glossaryac.htm#anarchismsocial

Now both of the definitions are correct depending on context.
However, your definitions is INCORRECT when the context is what Anarchists believe in. Kroptkin, Baukunin, Chomsky etc... are not proposing definition #1, they are proposing definition #2. You are only causing confusion by mixing up the definitions, you are not proving anything.

but how many jobs would be around with everyone falling into anarchy?

well, judging by acutal anarchist societies that have existed in the past (and of whom ive referred to twice) there would be plenty of "jobs."

Yuma, please please please please please please please read my posts before responding.

you were serious about that shit? you think wal-mart would be standing with total anarchy covering the world?

Did you somehow skip over my post when I said: "Of course not. Anarchism is more accuratly described as libertarian socialism*. So large corporations would obviously not exist. "

i feel the same about you.

i posted the definition for anarchy.
i dont care what the 'popular' definition is... i'll stick to the real one.
and the real one doesnt allow for corporations to exist.

nuff said.

without large corporations... all of your food shopping will need to be done at local grocers.

but without large corporations there just is not enough jobs to go around. not even close.

so without a job, people do not have money, without money they will steal food, with all the stealing... the local grocer will go under soon. then you are back to survivalism. just what i've been saying.

i just dont think you are looking far enough down the line.

and yes those other societies were able to pull off a form of anarchy as a society, but only because they didnt revert to looting for their food. american has already shown itself to be VERY quick to steal shit. the other societies were also able to hunt and grow food so they didnt strictly depend on stores for their food. also, they didnt suddenly lose all their corporations thus changing the entire society in an unimaginable drastic way.

i just dont understand how anarchy can be liberatarian socialism.

it cant very well be ANARCHY (the abscence of government) and liberatarian socialism at teh same time.

yes.

he is going by some other guys definition.
remember i talked about this in a philosophy thread. how people use philosophers points of view as facts when debating. you cant really do that, at the end of the day that philosopher was just 'a guy', and that philosophy was just 'his opinion'. i think that can be applied here.

in a debate you gotta use the official defintions.

had this thread been about liberatarian socialism rather than anarchy, i wouldnt have even posted in it. just a matter of making sharper choices in your words.
