Why are you vegan??  Reply with quote

I assume there are a fair amount of vegans/vegeterians on this board and I am curios as to your reasons.

I dont want a page full of statistics and bullshit because there are 6 billion people on this Earth and if we are speaking statistically you arent making a damn difference.

Being vegan and sipping cappucinos while reading poetry at the local coffee shop has totally become the posh/trendy thing to do now days and Im curious as to why.

Im curious as to your personal beliefs on it all.

As of yet, I havent heard anyone give a good reason as to why they are vegan.

To each his own, and I am in no way critisizing, just curious.

cap·puc·ci·no Audio pronunciation of cappuccino ( P ) Pronunciation Key (kp-chn, käp-)
n. pl. cap·puc·ci·nos

Espresso coffee mixed or topped with steamed milk or cream.

veg·an Audio pronunciation of vegan ( P ) Pronunciation Key (vgn, vjn)
n.

A vegetarian who eats plant products only, especially one who uses no products derived from animals, as fur or leather.

I am curious why you post this half thought out bollocks, or do you think milk comes from trees?

As of yet, I haven't heard any good reason why you bother.

I think it's hilarious that the person who started the thread answered his own question without even knowing it...great stuff

Well, statistically speaking if we keep eating meat at the rate we do we will run out of water in the not too near future.

And statistically speaking not eating meat would make a 1 six billionth of a difference.

Why would you assume that many of us are vegans?

Health reasons, moral issues, and coffeehouses are the main causes of veganism. Of course, there really are people like my mom that simply don't like the taste of meat.

there are some serious ethical/philisophical reasons for being vegan and these are what I hold to. if you honestly are interested pick up peter singers: rethinking life and death. It covers most of the issues we are faced with now in regards to life i.e abortion, euthanasia, murder, eating meat, enslavement of anmials, but focussing on being rational about it and debunking the sanctity of life ethic which is very much a weak foundation for your decision to be vegan. Read that book then we will talk seriously about veganism. but honestly "you're outta your element donnie!"

I believe the human body was designed for eating meat. I had typed out this whole thing with my explanation and when I hit submit, it asked me to login again and then it was gone. Ill sum it up in 3 words.

Teeth

Digestive Tract
