What is your dream mash-up?  Reply with quote

So ever since Copper Gone came out, I've felt like 'Dead Man's Float' kind of has a more industrial version of Modest Mouse type feel to it. I could just be crazy, and part of it may just have to do with the chorus of the song, but it got me thinking about what mash-ups I'd love to hear. Personally, after hearing that beat, I'd love to hear Cecil do something with 'Moon in Antartica', and possibly have him rap over it as well, although maybe someone else could think of an emcee that would be an even better fit. I absolutely love what he did on Wugazi and I think he could pull off something similar there if he ever wanted to.

So anyways, what would your dream mash-up be? Which artist would you want the instrumentals pulled from? Who would you want to produce it? Which emcee, if any, do you think would fit best rapping over it?

I always like when dudes like EL-P and Killer Mike get together but that's kinda rare.

Sage on Swizz Beatz
Jay-Z on Buck 65
Nas on Ant
Slug on Timbaland
Promoe on Just Blaze

(Maybe I'm misunderstanding the thread?)

Nah, those are all fair game. I meant to make note that people didn't need to use my indie band + emcee formula. Just really looking for any combination of artists that people would like to see mashed-up together.

SAGE FRANCIS and KURTIS SP FULL ALBUM- HOPE 2 (on some throwback rap is what i mean)

or a full album with AUPHEUS - this might work better for Hope 2 having heard Strictly Scientific

Swizz Beats sucks so bad. Couldn't have suggested a worse pairing. Sage with the Brown Note would be better. F swizz.

I'd rather see Sage (or your favorite rapper) do a show with public enemy (or their favorite rapper) sharing the stage hyping for each other's songs and other stage antics than any in studio anything collabmash. I'd pay a lot of money (in the tens!) for a show like that.

Yeah, and that's cool for sure. But I want to see sage back chuck during black steel and chuck do the rap back and forth parts with sage on buzzkill. You know. Stuff like that.
