even though im a niners fan, it was still an epic game. big ups to the ravens, they looked so poised the entire game. bummed that football is over until august.

read a super funny tweet right after the lights went off

@TheJaySmith
"Chill guys. George W Bush will be here to fix the lights in a week and a half. . #superbowl47"

Really? It was a terrible audio montage of Beyonce's career. I would rather a couple of full hit songs be performed than 30 seconds of ten different songs. That was distracting. I also thought the audio levels were jacked up for an event like the Super Bowl. Beyonce also sounded breathless at times. When she wasn't, to her credit, she actually sang quite well. And I didn't watch it; I just listened to it. I'm assuming by "total porn" you mean there were plenty of hip gyrations, thrusts, and feel-ups?

All of the Super Bowl halftime shows I can remember (admittedly not many) have centered around medleys from the featured performer. I can understand why that's not desirable, but it seems to be the norm. You definitely missed out on 90% of the show if you only listened. Not only did Beyonce look amazing (despite the picture above), but the choreography and overall coordination of the entire event was pretty spectacular. That and plenty of hip gyrations, thrusts, etc.

Fair enough. And I'm well aware of the trend in halftime shows to do medleys. It seems so cheap though, no? Like, I can picture the organizers being like "Let's just give them small snippets of what they're familiar with; that way they'll feel like they got more out of the show." Never in my life do I want to go to a show where I get 30-second blasts of songs I love. If I want that, I'll go see Girl Talk.

Also, that photo of Beyonce is incredible. I mean, that's like Grace Jones up there Hulkin out.

She looked great, the stage show was decent (not great) but she barely sang anything. I have no problem with medleys but they basically ran through the beats and she didn't actually sing anything more than about two lines and then she was just a hype (wo)man for her own songs playing over a PA.

I've seen live performances from her before that I've enjoyed but this was a bit shit. Not a patch on any of my favourite half time acts from recent memory - Prince, Springsteen, Madonna.. but a lot better than The Who or The Stones, who are terrible.

U2 will always be the most unintentionally hilarious show though.

Oh well, who cares? The game delivered in spades anyway. A decent half time act is just a consolation prize if the game is a bust.

It happened. Like it's happened every year for ten years or so. Also, I won. I'm awesome.

No. But it looks like our season is pretty much killed.
Still can't wait for the first kick off.

BB seems to fart double digit win seasons and y'all's division stanks. But I guess it's Super Bowl or bust for you guys. Sigh...

I like what the Lions have done so far but I still don't know how we make the playoffs. We're still the worst team in our division.

Summertime is supremely boring for shut in types. I can't wait till things cool down.

The Lions have a chance... if Stafford stays healthy, Bush is productive, and the offensive line steps up. Excited to see what Ansah can add as well. And please put Broyles in more. Kid is so under-utilized.

Broyles was hurt and then got hurt again. He did show a little something when he got the chance though. Ziggy seems to be a coin flip. He NEEDS to produce from the jump. That O line... that's what worries me. For all the shit Backus got he was at least consistent. Rieff got blown up in his one start last year, though it was against the Texans. I think we are in for a heartbreaker of a season. Close but no cigar deal.

It's interesting to me Stafford only signed a 3 year extension. I'm not convinced he's happy here. But that might be me being cynical.

The wait from February to football is agonizing. I'm also really looking forward to this season, especially since I've finally joined a fantasy league with people I know. Draft next week is going to be crunk.
