Dark Skies was really good. Not really into alien movies, but they did it right

I was really looking forward to seeing it but the reviews have been far worse then for Superman Returns (75 and 57 on Rotten Tomatoes.

I can confirm that this was a really funny movie, well worth the viewing. There were a lot of meta-references and self-effacement that I thought was refreshing as well. Oddly, a middle-aged couple somehow fell asleep in the row in front of us, but let that not be a testament to This Is the End's quality. You will laugh and giggle.

Man of Steel was ok. Definitely not the best looking superhero movie so far (The Dark Knight looked better, so did Scott Pilgrim, Iron Man or The Avengers, in my opinion).

The cast was ok. The story was ok, it started of well, but Zod's plan got a bit too odd with all the different devices and ships. The last half hour was basically Superman flying through stuff and buildings tumbling over.

I really liked that Superman was actually super this time around: he flies, he hits really hard, he has powers, etc. And his opponents are a match, which was nice. Henry Cavill sure looked the part, but other than that, he didn't have that much to do. Michael Shannon was alright. I really liked Kevin Costner, and Russel Crowe and Laurence Fishburne. Amy Adams was meh.

Overall, the movie was too long and the action too much. It good trim could have helped it. That said, I did enjoy myself and Superman is actually super this time around.

Yeah The Dark Knight is a great looking movie and looks better then Man Of Steel but I was meaning in the sense that it has a flying man with superpowers, crashing buildings, the enemies also have superpowers. Dark Knight is a dude dressed as a bat and a clown.

Somebody may have mentioned this on here before, but Submarine was fucking dope. Great story, super dialogue with humorous elements, and beautiful cinematography. This is the film Wes Anderson has been trying to make his whole career.

Yes, lovely movie.

And on Superman, it isn't really fair to compare it to The Dark Knight, I agree. I thought the combat between the superpowered people were really cool, but the last half hour was too excessive and lot its impact. Buildings kept getting destroyed and tumbled over.

Not really a movie but I have to give my absolute highest recommendation to Reggie Watt's comedy / music / improv special "Why Shit so Crazy?" It's streaming on Netflix and is some of the weirdest most brilliant shit I've seen in a long while.

Dude reminds of Sage is in his general disregard for normalcy.
